HeterMedia boosts hybrid meetings with Sennheiser tech in Hong Kong
HeterMedia has implemented Sennheiser's TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphones and TC Bar M conferencing devices to upgrade its hybrid meeting spaces in its new Wanchai office in Hong Kong.
Office upgrade
As part of a wider business expansion in 2024, HeterMedia moved to a new office and began overhauling its meeting technology to improve both in-person and remote collaboration. The firm installed two TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) microphones for its combined VIP meeting room and two TC Bar M conferencing bars for its medium-sized spaces. Systems integration was supported by Komstadt Systems, and the solutions became fully operational in September 2024.
Before the upgrade, HeterMedia's older conferencing infrastructure had been causing frequent disruptions, particularly in hybrid meetings with external clients or remote staff. Ellis Tsui, Management Executive of HeterMedia, described the previous issues: "Before moving to our new office, we struggled with hybrid meetings that were constantly delayed by tech glitches. Remote participants kept missing chunks of conversation due to audio cutouts, and those subpar results were undermining our reputation during client presentations. Everything changed when we installed the TC Bar M. The 4K Ultra HD camera paired with Sennheiser's stereo speakers now deliver crystal-clear quality – it's like having everyone in the room. The TC Bar M's Auto Framing feature is an absolute game-changer. It automatically zooms in on whoever's speaking, keeping everyone laser-focused and way more engaged."
Conferencing technology
The TC Bar range comprises all-in-one conferencing devices designed for modern meeting needs, with integrated cameras, microphones, and speakers. The TC Bar S includes four microphones and two speakers, while the TC Bar M, selected by HeterMedia, incorporates six microphones and four speakers. These devices offer 4K Ultra HD video and Sennheiser's established audio quality, tailored for scalability from small meeting rooms to larger spaces.
Sennheiser's TC Bar systems support wider integrations using Dante I/O and control, enabling installations across large office campuses. The devices can be expanded with additional table microphones, Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling microphones, or external USB cameras as needed. Built-in digital signal processing (DSP), power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, and a single cable mode are features aimed at reducing setup time and minimising complexity.
"Setup is a breeze. We just plug in the USB cable and we're good to go," continued Tsui. "No more waiting for IT support to untangle wires. When we do need tweaks, the Sennheiser Control Cockpit software lets us fine-tune settings in seconds. Honestly, this sleek bar has become our secret weapon for productive meetings – works so smoothly we sometimes forget it's there."
The TCC 2 ceiling microphone, targeted at large rooms and collaborative spaces, is installed by replacing a standard ceiling tile to ensure a cable-free table and flexible furniture arrangements. The microphone supports features such as Sennheiser Trusted Audio Quality, streamlined setup, and integration with existing room control systems.
Business applications
HeterMedia provides content management, financial printing, document services, and digital media solutions for clients primarily in the financial, capital markets, and corporate sectors. High-quality communication and presentation experiences are considered vital for client engagement and internal collaboration. The implementation of these new audio and video systems aligns with HeterMedia's broader business growth and intention to deliver reliable hybrid meeting capabilities.
