Healthengine reaches 100 million bookings amid digital boom
Healthengine has surpassed 100 million healthcare appointments booked through its digital marketplace, highlighting the growing reliance on technology in Australia's health sector.
Healthengine connects patients to over 10,000 healthcare practices and nearly 30,000 healthcare practitioners across general practice, dental, allied health, specialist, and pharmacy services.
The platform facilitates approximately one million bookings each month, with usage rising by over 30% in the past year. More than half of these appointments are now booked through the Healthengine mobile app.
Changing expectations
The service has been adopted widely as patients seek greater convenience and choice in managing healthcare needs.
Healthengine users can book same-day GP appointments, access dental check-ups, obtain specialist follow-up care, and arrange pharmacy services. For many, this digital platform has become a central part of managing their routine and preventative healthcare.
Operational efficiency
Healthcare practices using Healthengine report improved visibility and engagement with patients.
The platform's digital tools are designed to streamline administrative tasks, reduce overheads, and free up clinicians to focus on delivering clinical care.
Other features include automated patient communications, integrated workflow tools, and data-driven management options.
Growth trajectory
"This milestone isn't just about a number - it's about impact. Behind every booking is a patient getting the care they need, a practice supporting its community, and a moment where healthcare becomes simpler and more connected. That's at least 100 million times we've helped someone get better, and that's something we're incredibly proud of," said Dan Stinton, Chief Executive Officer, Healthengine.
The company began operating in 2006.
Its continuing investment in partnerships and product development is aimed at further supporting patient access and practice efficiency, according to senior leadership.
Digital adoption
The growth of Healthengine reflects the broader shift in patient expectations across Australia towards digital solutions that offer transparency and ease of access. Patients are able to manage appointments, submit documentation, request diagnosis or referrals, and coordinate multiple aspects of care from a single platform.
Practise benefits
Practises listed on Healthengine gain from increased exposure and digital engagement with their communities.
Tools for practice administration and patient communications help practices meet rising demand efficiently. Both solo practitioners and large group practices are represented on the platform, offering patients broad provider choice.
Future plans
Healthengine is continuing to expand its service to support the future of connected healthcare in Australia through investment in technology and partnerships.
"We've spent 20 years establishing Healthengine as Australia's most comprehensive and trusted consumer healthcare platform - and we're just getting started. Our focus is firmly on the next 100 million bookings, backed by continued investment in partnerships and technology that make healthcare simpler, smarter, and more connected for every Australian," said Stinton.
