HamiltonJet adopts Fortude Fortest to advance ERP automation

Tue, 5th Aug 2025

HamiltonJet has selected Fortude to support its transition to new enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems through the adoption of automated regression testing.

The company, known for its waterjet propulsion systems, is implementing Fortest, Fortude's automated regression testing platform, as part of an ongoing shift towards Infor M3 and a broader digital transformation agenda.

ERP strategy

The company's decision aligns with industry trends highlighted in the Deloitte Manufacturing Industry Outlook 2025, which reports that close to 70% of manufacturers plan to accelerate digital transformation in the coming year, with ERP modernisation as the top strategic focus.

As HamiltonJet undertakes frequent ERP updates due to Infor's continuous delivery approach, the business identified a need for a faster, more scalable way to test critical processes that touch finance, supply chains, manufacturing, and aftermarket services.

Manual testing had become a bottleneck, impacting timely uptake of updates and increasing pressure on employees.

Adoption of Fortest

Dominic Feran, ERP Manager at HamiltonJet, commented on the organisation's objectives for the project.

"We want to reduce our reliance on manual testing while maintaining confidence during every M3 release," Feran said.
"With Fortest, we will be able to cut down testing time, expand our coverage to include complex integrations, and free up our business users to focus on higher-value initiatives."

Fortest comes with prebuilt test libraries for Infor M3 modules, enabling users without technical backgrounds to create, manage, and execute tests.

The platform delivers end-to-end process coverage, including key workflows such as quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay, and offers intelligent change impact analysis to optimise testing priorities.

Broader significance

Cameron Greening, Chief Revenue Officer – ANZ at Fortude, outlined the importance of automated testing for companies with global operations navigating regular ERP changes:

"Automating regression testing is essential for businesses like HamiltonJet that are constantly evolving and rely on frequent ERP updates to support global operations. Ensuring smooth updates and maintaining seamless operations for a global customer base requires agility, and that's exactly where Fortest comes in."

Fortest is positioned for use across a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, food and beverage, fashion, distribution, chemicals, and field services.

It can be deployed with any ERP system and is designed to be managed by the business, reducing dependency on technical teams. According to Fortude, this approach is aimed at quickening the upgrade process, mitigating project risk, and supporting operational agility.

Besides its compatibility with Infor M3, Fortest supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other ERP as well as integrated applications.

It is intended to accelerate testing cycles, expand validation coverage, and enable organisations to address ongoing technological changes efficiently.

The partnership between HamiltonJet and Fortude reflects ongoing efforts within the manufacturing sector to leverage technology for streamlining business operations and advancing digital capability.
