Gigamon appoints Simon Oliver as ANZ Head of Channel
Mon, 26th Feb 2024

Gigamon, a deep observability vendor, has announced that it has appointed channel executive Simon Oliver as its Head of Channel for Australia. Based in Melbourne, Oliver will be responsible for strengthening Gigamon's channel-first strategy in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

Today’s organisations face increasing pressures in securing and managing hybrid cloud infrastructure. The Gigamon 2023 Hybrid Cloud Security survey, which features responses from 1,000 IT and security leaders, discovered that although 90% of respondents conceded to having experienced a data breach within the last 18 months, a third of these breaches were not detected by conventional security and observability tools.

In Australia, the situation appears more concerning with nearly half (48%) of breaches going unnoticed, emphasising the urgent need for improved visibility across hybrid cloud infrastructure in the ANZ region.

Oliver is an experienced transformation management professional with over two decades of experience in high-level sales and channel roles throughout the ANZ region. His previous experience includes working as a cloud and alliances lead with Cirrus Networks, as well as holding sales and channel roles at firms such as IBM, NetApp, Macquarie Telecom, and VMtech.

Kenny Tan, Senior Director, APAC Channel at Gigamon, expressed confidence in Oliver’s appointment, stating: “With Simon’s extensive industry experience and results-driven approach, we will continue to expand our partner ecosystem relationships throughout ANZ, as we progress our Deep Observability Pipeline and jointly deliver solutions to the needs of our customers in this critical region."

Oliver explained that his primary focus would be on meeting the needs of customers and partners in order to drive growth, increase revenue, and expand market share. He said: “The ever-changing security landscape is both exciting and challenging, as our partners and customers continue to collaborate to leverage our deep observability capabilities to meet secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure.”

By bringing on board a seasoned executive like Oliver, Gigamon is committed to reinforcing its position in the ANZ market and better serving its clients and partners by providing effective solutions to the complex challenges of managing and securing hybrid cloud infrastructure.
