Gallagher appoints Neil Jarvis to Victoria & Tasmania

Gallagher Security has appointed Neil Jarvis as Enterprise & Consultant Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, effective at the start of 2027.

He will oversee engagement with consultants, channel partners and end users in the two states as Gallagher adjusts its market structure in Australia. The appointment is part of a broader shift that will also see the company name a State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania.

The new position sits within the sales organisation and reflects a decision to separate external market engagement from the broader regional leadership brief. Under this model, the Enterprise & Consultant Manager will focus on relationships with advisers, partners and customers, while the State Manager will lead strategy and growth across the territory.

Jarvis has worked with Gallagher for more than 20 years and has been involved in its operations in Victoria and Tasmania throughout that time. His experience in those markets and established industry ties were key factors in the appointment.

Scott Johnstone, Director of Sales - Australia, outlined the rationale for the move.

"Neil has played a significant role in building Gallagher's position in Victoria and Tasmania over more than two decades," said Johnstone, Director of Sales - Australia, Gallagher Security.

He said the role aligns with Jarvis's background and interests.

"When discussing this new opportunity, Neil was clear that this was the area of the business he was most passionate about and where he wanted to focus his efforts. His relationships, market knowledge, and experience make him ideally suited to the role," Johnstone said.

Market focus

The appointment comes as security technology suppliers place greater emphasis on direct support for specifiers, distribution partners and major users, particularly in regional markets where local relationships can influence procurement and project work. In that context, a dedicated role for consultant and enterprise engagement can give external stakeholders a clearer point of contact.

For Gallagher, the change points to a more segmented commercial structure in Australia. Rather than combining all regional responsibilities in one management role, the company is separating market-facing relationship work from broader operational and leadership duties.

Johnstone said the move reflected Gallagher's development in the Australian market.

Long tenure

Jarvis's move follows a long tenure with the company, giving him continuity with customers and industry contacts in Victoria and Tasmania. That experience is likely to matter in a sector where projects often involve long sales cycles and repeated interaction between vendors, consultants, installers and end users.

His comments focused on those relationships and the opportunity to spend more time supporting them.
