Fujitsu and Mirantis team to deliver private managed OpenStack cloud

11 May 2017

Fujitsu and Mirantis have inked a deal which will see the Fujitsu reselling Mirantis’ managed open cloud technology to enterprise and telco customers.

The two companies say they will work together to integrate Mirantis Cloud Platform, announced last month, and a build-operate-transfer open infrastructure delivery model with Fujitsu’s hardware, software and support.

Katsue Tanaka, Fujitsu senior vice president and head of the platform software, says the partnership extends Fujitsu’s OpenStack private cloud business and the new offering will enable large enterprises to adopt open cloud ‘with confidence’.

Boris Renski, Mirantis’ co-founder and CMO, says “Today, modern infrastructure is defined by public cloud vendors that give customers an experience where they don’t have to think about software.

“Infrastructure software is changing. Instead, customers will consume infrastructure as a service, where everything is API driven, managed and continuously delivered.

“We are very excited to find a strategic partner in Fujitsu who is eager to collaborate with us to bring its benefits to the broader market.”

Fujitsu will add a new privately managed global OpenStack based on Mirantis Cloud Platform, starting from June 2017 in Japan. The offering will roll out to other regions later on.
