Exabeam's APJ director of channel and alliances vows to drive major regional growth
Channel and sales leader Sean Abbott is excited. He's the new Asia Pacific and China (APAC) director of channel and alliances for Exabeam, a company carving out a path to significant growth in the region through its cybersecurity products.
Abbott has an extensive channel and sales background, including a stint as acting Asia Pacific and Japan vice president at Zerto and roles at Trend Micro, Comodo, and Tufin.
Abbott sees huge potential in Exabeam's channel sales program, which will support the growing company.
"I am excited to work with such a young, dynamic organisation and by the opportunity presented to help grow the company's presence in the channel. My experience and contacts across the region will be a big help in driving this period of growth for Exabeam," said Abbott.
Abbott will be responsible for building the company's channel sales program to expand Exabeam's reach in markets throughout APAC.
Abbott, who fills the newly-created director of channel and alliances role, is just one of several key local hires Exabeam has made in recent months. Senior sales engineer Stephen Crowshaw recently joined the company's Australian office, while commercial account executive Keisuke Fujigaki and commercial sales engineer Masato Hori round out new hires in Japan.
Exabeam's APJ VP of sales, Gareth Cox, says these hires represent Exabeam's major push into the region. The company recently opened an office in India to support R-D.
"We have state-of-the-art solutions that are getting wide recognition, and we are now putting the resources in place to capitalise on that. There is huge scope for our SIEM and XDR solutions in APAC, as companies continue to evolve digitally and require smarter security tools.
"With channel, sales and engineers now in place, we stand ready to meet that demand.
The company was recently named a Leader in Gartner's 2021 Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management, reflecting the company's expertise in providing security incident and event management (SIEM) capabilities to customers.
"This is a momentous period in Exabeam's growth journey, and we are honoured that Gartner has recognised us as a SIEM Leader once again," comments Exabeam president and CEO Michael DeCesare.
The company also achieved a US$200 million Series F funding round led by the Owl Rock division of Blue Owl Capital and supported by existing investors Acrew Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Norwest Venture Partners.
"Our recent Series F funding will be used for research and development to expand our already industry-leading security analytics and automation offerings," adds DeCesare.
"The year ahead will be exciting as we continue to innovate and execute fast to deliver the number one trusted cloud SecOps platform on the market.
