Everpure rebrands & moves into AI data intelligence
Pure Storage has rebranded as Everpure and agreed to buy data intelligence and orchestration company 1touch as it broadens its focus from storage systems to wider data management.
Everpure will begin trading under its new name on the New York Stock Exchange on March 5, while retaining its ticker symbol, PSTG.
Everpure has also signed a definitive agreement to acquire 1touch. Terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and Everpure expects it to close in Q2 FY27.
The rebrand is one of the most significant identity shifts in the data infrastructure market in recent years. Pure Storage built its business around flash storage arrays and storage subscriptions, then expanded into software, services, and cloud-based data operations. Everpure says the new name reflects that broader scope.
"Everpure reflects the company we have become as we help enterprises unleash the full power of their data. It captures the power of our Enterprise Data Cloud architecture and adaptability of Evergreen, reinforcing what has always set us apart as we redefine important markets," said Charles Giancarlo, CEO of Everpure. "With 1touch, we are taking the next step in helping organizations not only gain control of their most valuable asset-data-but also understand, enhance, and contextualize that data for actionable intelligence."
AI focus
Everpure positioned the announcements around enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence and the operational demands that come with it. Many large organisations still manage data across separate storage systems, clouds, and applications, which can lead to duplication, manual processes, and gaps in governance.
Its messaging centres on an "Enterprise Data Cloud" architecture: treating storage as a unified pool of data under a control layer that applies policies across environments. Everpure says the approach manages datasets globally and reduces manual configuration.
The company also renamed its core offering. The Everpure Platform replaces the Pure Storage Platform name, while Enterprise Data Cloud remains the umbrella for its data management strategy.
1touch integration
The 1touch acquisition would push Everpure further into data discovery and classification. 1touch focuses on data intelligence and orchestration, and Everpure says it provides a unified view of enterprise information across environments, including SaaS and edge deployments.
Everpure expects 1touch to add discovery and semantic context on top of its platform, enabling data to be classified and enriched across datasets. It tied those capabilities to AI projects, which often require a clearer understanding of what data exists, where it resides, and how it can be used under governance and security controls.
"Data is the lifeblood of the AI era, but without the proper controls and semantic context, it remains an untapped resource," said Ashish Gupta, CEO and president of 1touch. "By joining forces with Everpure, we can eliminate the barriers that have kept enterprises from realizing the true ROI of their data. Together, we will further expand the Everpure platform to provide a level of contextual intelligence that is unmatched in the industry-giving customers the foundation they need to move AI projects from pilot to production at record speed and trust."
Partner comments
The announcement drew supportive statements from technology partners and customers working with Everpure across storage, data protection, and infrastructure services.
Commvault CEO Sanjay Mirchandani pointed to security and recovery as key themes for customers managing growing data estates. "Data is constantly under threat, growing in complexity, and challenging to manage. By combining the speed and performance of Everpure with the scale of Commvault's unified, AI-enabled platform, customers can secure, govern, and rapidly recover their data wherever it lives, while also making data easier to manage so enterprises can put it to work immediately."
Computacenter linked the strategy to governance concerns. "AI, cyber resilience, and data sovereignty are front of mind for our enterprise customers, with data sitting at the heart of all three trends. By simplifying data complexity, Everpure can deliver tangible business value and peace of mind regarding security and compliance for our joint customers," said John Beard, managing director for Europe at Computacenter.
Fiserv highlighted the importance of data foundations in financial services. "In the high-stakes world of global money movement, a production-ready AI strategy relies on the quality and accessibility of the data behind it. Everpure provides the high-performance, resilient foundation we need to manage large transaction volumes while enabling us to achieve cost efficiencies. By simplifying our data environment, we've elevated our focus beyond maintaining infrastructure to delivering the real-time insights and sustainable innovation that our clients expect in a digital-first economy," said Peter Cavicchia, chief technology officer at Fiserv.
Other partners and customers quoted included Fujitsu, Groupama, NTT Docomo, Nutanix, Options Technology, Presidio, Red Hat, Rubrik, Veeam, Wipro, and World Wide Technology. Their comments focused on hybrid cloud operations, cyber resilience, data sovereignty, and the complexity of managing data across multiple locations.
Everpure said it will share more information on the 1touch acquisition as the deal moves through closing conditions and regulatory steps.
