Dynabook has announced the release of the Portege X40L-M laptop, which incorporates Intel Core Ultra processors, Intel Arc Graphics, and integrated Microsoft Copilot AI functionality.

The Portege X40L-M features a 16:10 display aspect ratio, supporting what the company describes as a more immersive viewing experience. The new laptop is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra Processor (H28), Intel Arc Graphics, and offers configurations with up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB SSD storage. It also includes a dedicated key for Microsoft Copilot, allowing users direct access to AI features.

According to Dynabook, the Portégé X40L-M is its lightest premium 14-inch laptop, with a weight starting from 1.05kg, although this varies based on configuration and selected options. The device aims to address the demands of professionals who require mobility and performance. The inclusion of the Intel Core Ultra processors, which are built on a hybrid architecture with an integrated GPU and a dedicated neural processing unit, is intended to support AI-driven workloads efficiently and balance battery life with performance.

The hybrid architecture of the processor is designed to allocate computing resources to the most appropriate component depending on the specific task, supporting both productivity applications and AI workloads. The laptop ships with Microsoft Windows 11 Pro as standard, with the operating system's productivity, navigation, and security features cited as contributing to a user-friendly experience.

Microsoft Copilot, an AI-powered assistant included with the Portege X40L-M, is integrated via a dedicated key. Dynabook states that this assistant can enhance creativity, streamline workflow, and facilitate collaboration through intelligent suggestions, automation of tasks, and coordinated communication among team members. The aim is to help users to work more efficiently with AI tools available at their fingertips.

Angela Walker, General Manager at Dynabook ANZ, said, "We are excited to introduce the Portege X40L-M to the market. This laptop embodies our commitment to delivering exceptional technology that enhances productivity and meets the evolving needs of our customers. With its striking 16:10 display aspect ratio and powerful features, the Portege X40L-M is a compelling addition to our product lineup, offering users easy access to AI with the integrated Copilot key."

The Portege X40L-M's lightweight and slim design is aimed at mobile professionals, facilitating on-the-go productivity. Dynabook highlights that the laptop combines portability with specification options that include the Intel Core Ultra processors and Intel Arc Graphics for workloads requiring visual performance and processing capability.

Other specifications include up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, intended to support smooth multitasking, and storage capacities up to 2TB SSD. The laptop's display is designed to cater to business professionals requiring a large viewing area without increasing the device size substantially.

The recommended retail price for the Portege X40L-M in Australia begins at AUD $2200, inclusive of GST. The non-vPro model is scheduled to be available in May 2024.

Dynabook notes that the Copilot feature availability may vary by market for devices displaying the Copilot in Windows icon. The company also clarifies that the precise weight of the laptop may differ depending on product configuration, vendor components, and manufacturing variables.
