Dynabook launches Portégé Z40L-N AI-powered laptop for business
Dynabook has introduced the Portégé Z40L-N, a 14.0-inch business-focused laptop which features artificial intelligence-driven tools, enterprise security, and a self-replaceable battery.
The device weighs under 1kg and incorporates a magnesium alloy chassis designed to withstand drops, shocks, and challenging conditions, meeting MIL-STD-810H standards. Dynabook has emphasised that the Z40L-N is aimed at professionals who require enhanced mobility without compromising on performance or connectivity options.
The Portégé Z40L-N is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors based on the Lunar Lake architecture. The processor's advanced Neural Processing Unit (NPU) provides AI acceleration capabilities and works in conjunction with Intel Arc Graphics to deliver processing speed and efficiency.
Users can interact with a 14.0-inch 16:10 touch display, and benefit from Wi-Fi 7 support for high-speed connectivity. The system also features a self-replaceable battery aimed at increasing device longevity and facilitating easier maintenance for business users frequently on the move.
Angela Walker, Managing Director of Dynabook ANZ, described the launch as a strategic move for the company's business portfolio. "The Portégé Z40L-N is more than just a laptop, it's a productivity powerhouse designed to really meet the needs of today's business professionals. With AI-enhanced features, market leading security and a new self-replaceable battery for added convenience and longevity, this device empowers users to work smarter and more efficiently. This is a fantastic new addition to our range, which confirms why Dynabook are the laptop experts."
The Z40L-N integrates Microsoft Copilot+ to deliver AI-powered productivity tools. These include Live Captions for instant audio-to-text transcription in meetings, Gesture Control for touchless navigation, and Windows Studio Effects to improve video calls by applying background blur, lighting adjustments, and eye contact correction. Human Presence Detection uses AI to lock the device when the user steps away and wake it on return; Peek Alert informs users if someone tries to view the screen, enhancing data privacy during use in public spaces.
Walker highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence in the workplace. "AI is transforming the way we work, and the Z40L-N puts that power directly into the hands of our customers," Walker added. "From enhanced security to smarter performance, this laptop is designed to help businesses stay ahead."
The device's connectivity options include USB-C/Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, and USB-A ports, eliminating the need for multiple adapters. Despite its lightweight form, full-size connectivity remains a central focus.
"Our customers need a laptop that delivers power and is packed with features without the weight. The Z40L-N combines lightweight portability with robust connectivity and the ability to extend their battery life, making it the ideal choice for business," said Walker.
Security is addressed with Dynabook's implementation of Microsoft's Secured-core PC architecture on vPro models, which delivers what the company describes as chip-to-cloud protection. Features such as adaptive dimming, Lock on Leave, and Wake on Approach are included to enhance device security when unattended. Optional biometric authentication options are available with Windows Hello fingerprint and face recognition for password-free login.
The Portégé Z40L-N also comes with a three-year warranty from Dynabook.
The device is now available for order, with a recommended retail price starting from AUD $2,150.
