FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dimension Data has won a multi-million dollar managed services agreement with Australian industry superannuation fund Hostplus.

The deal will see Dimension Data as the principal technology services supplier for Hostplus' entire IT environment with the ICT services and solutions provider providing operations and service management, and undertaking an almost total refresh of Hostplus' existing technology, including core compute infrastructure, IT security and operations, storage infrastructure, WAN, LAN and wireless networks, along with its cloud footprint.

David Ella, Hostplus chief executive, says the deal will enable the company, which services the hospitality, tourism and recreation industries and has nearly one million members and more than $23 billion under management, to ‘stay ahead of the curve' when it comes to technology and ensure members receive ‘frictionless' service when managing their super.

“Hostplus is expecting to achieve a significant uplift in technology capability by providing our staff with leading workplace tools such as Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business and industry best practice security tools while adopting Azure to improve the resiliency of our technology and improve compliance and risk postures,” Ella says.

He says the new technology capability will also enhance Hostplus' ability to engage and collaborate both internally and externally.

Steve Nola, Dimension Data Australia chief executive, says technology is increasingly important for today's super funds which operate in a highly competitive, highly regulated, non-stop market which demands peak operational performance 24/7.

“Increasingly this performance depends on robust, flexible IT systems,” Nola says. “And while agility and efficiencies are critical, it's also crucial that today's IT landscape lays the groundwork for meeting the demands of the future.
