Dicker Data boosts Cisco Security commitment in Australia with new hire
Dicker Data, an Australian technology distributor, has strengthened its commitment to Cisco Security in Australia by significantly growing its team and upping their investment. The company has welcomed on board ex-JB-HiFi Business Solutions Manager, George Guirguis, as their Business Manager for Cisco Security. This newly incorporated role will entail him establishing the necessary sales, technical presales, and support systems to sustain the anticipated growth in Cisco's Security business. He will also work to increase the visibility of Cisco Security in the Australian channel.
Vickie Madeleine, General Manager Cisco at Dicker Data, commented on the new hire, saying, "I'm pleased to welcome George to the team as we commence our strategic investment into driving the growth of Cisco Security in the local market. Cisco has the most comprehensive range of security solutions, comprising of endpoint, firewall, identity, network, cloud and more, and we're on a mission to make every partner aware of the role Cisco can play in combatting the increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges facing our industry."
Apart from Guirguis, Dicker Data is also actively recruiting for numerous Cisco Security roles to extend the scope and reach of Cisco Security solutions. George Guirguis observes that "Cisco Security has been underrepresented in our market, which means there's a significant opportunity ahead for the partners who are willing to invest and be part of the hyper-growth journey we're building. Cisco is one of the few vendors that offers end-to-end cybersecurity solutions to protect users and endpoints, through to core infrastructure. We're creating programmes to simplify Cisco Security for our partners, and we have a number of exciting initiatives in the works that will help our partners to capitalise and expand the cybersecurity opportunities within their existing customers."
Corien Vermaak, Director of Cybersecurity for Cisco ANZ, views this bolstered investment in the security portfolio as a positive move that will benefit both customers and partners. This collaboration with Dicker Data allows for the powerful integration of Cisco's comprehensive suit of security solutions. She said: "This will empower our partners to adeptly navigate and overcome the ever-evolving challenges in cybersecurity that organisations of all sizes are concerned about. With this collaboration, we anticipate significant benefits for communities and organisations, ensuring robust protection for users, endpoints, and core infrastructure in the intricate landscape of cybersecurity."
Dicker Data will officially launch its Cisco Security initiatives at Cisco LIVE in Melbourne, commencing from 5th December 2023. The launch will include a focused luncheon event with senior, global Cisco team members and a selection of complimentary Cisco Security demonstration equipment will be provided to chosen partners to jumpstart their Cisco Security journey.
