Darumatic becomes first SUSE training partner in Australia

Fri, 21st Nov 2025

Sydney-based DevOps consultancy Darumatic has become the first authorised training partner for SUSE in Australia, a move expected to expand the availability of official SUSE training programmes to local enterprises and government agencies.

Training access

As a SUSE Professional Training Partner, Darumatic is now authorised to deliver the entire portfolio of SUSE's official training courses across Australia. The partnership provides organisations with access to SUSE-certified instructors with practical expertise, hands-on courses tailored for Australian requirements, and official SUSE certifications covering technologies like Kubernetes, Rancher, and open-source platforms.

Australian organisations will be able to take advantage of local training and support, reducing dependence on overseas resources. This is intended to help address the skills gap as companies accelerate adoption of cloud-native technologies and transition to platforms such as Kubernetes while requiring demonstrable expertise among their IT teams.

Skill gap challenge

Many organisations in Australia have faced difficulties filling IT positions requiring specialised knowledge in modern cloud and open-source platforms. Industry research highlights continued demand for talent with experience in implementing scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions.

Darumatic has witnessed these challenges during recent client projects, observing that long-term technology adoption needs more than strategy or software alone. Building in-house capability, knowledge transfer, and skills development are increasingly important to ensure sustainable operations and successful transformation initiatives.

Project outcomes

Darumatic's appointment as SUSE's training partner follows several high-profile projects. These include working with Service NSW to deliver the NSW Digital Driver's Licence, where Darumatic contributed to secure automation, compliance processes, and reliable digital identity services for millions of citizens.

The consultancy also supported a Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline rollout for the NSW Government, which eliminated downtime and enabled developers to deploy services through self-service models. For SaaS provider Protecht, Darumatic automated AWS and Kubernetes deployments, improved team skills, and helped reduce client onboarding timelines from weeks to hours. These projects combined technical delivery with ongoing upskilling of client teams.

Local market needs

The continued adoption of cloud-native platforms by Australian businesses and government groups has heightened the need for practical training delivered within the region. The local focus aims to advance technical skills without delay or added complexity from relying on non-local instructors. The partnership is positioned to ensure that more teams have direct access to certified programmes and can pursue relevant credentials required for modern IT roles.

"Australian organisations are accelerating their move to Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms, but the skills gap remains a major challenge. Becoming SUSE's first training partner in Australia means we can give our clients not only the right tools but also the expertise to succeed. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with SUSE," said Adrián Deccico, Co-founder, Darumatic.
