Cricket-themed cybersecurity seminars tour five Australian cities

Thu, 7th Aug 2025

ManageEngine will bring its identity and access management (IAM) and cybersecurity event series, Shield NXG2025: Bowling Over Cyber Threats, to five Australian cities this month.

The seminars will be hosted at well-known cricket stadiums, including Brisbane's Gabba, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The event aims to provide cybersecurity and IT professionals with opportunities to explore methods for strengthening organisational security frameworks.

Attendees will receive guidance on expanding the effectiveness of IAM and security information and event management (SIEM) platforms. The sessions are designed to enable professionals to address potential security blind spots with a focus on centralised identity control, policy-driven provisioning, and intelligent orchestration.

Shield NXG2025 blends technical presentations with a cricket-themed setting, aiming to foster an atmosphere conducive to learning and professional networking for those responsible for information security. The intent is to create parallels between strategic moves in cricket and the approach required to respond to cybersecurity threats effectively.

Recent research led by ManageEngine showed that while artificial intelligence uptake is progressing in Australia and New Zealand, confidence in AI's role in cybersecurity has not yet reached optimal levels amongst organisations. The findings indicate ongoing concerns about how emerging technologies impact cyber risk landscapes.

"With cyber criminals constantly trying to bowl out your defence and test your resilience strategies, events like the Shield NXG 2025 would empower you with the best front-foot defence against diversified cyberthreats, by providing in-depth insights, discussions and demonstrations of the best cybersecurity practices," Vinayak Sreedhar, Country Manager for A/NZ, ManageEngine. "At these five iconic locations, we will be fostering intellectual growth, building meaningful relationships, and igniting a shared drive for cybersecurity leadership and forward-thinking innovation – urgently needed as AI and other emerging technologies escalate threat complexity."

The series will provide attendees with a range of educational sessions. Topics include maximising SIEM capabilities, reinforcing digital identity strategies, and panel discussions with customers sharing success stories and lessons from practical deployments. The organisers highlight that all activities are free to attend.

Event locations

The seminars are scheduled to take place at five city stadiums known for hosting major cricket matches. The venues and dates are:

Perth: Optus Stadium, 14 August 2025, 9am–2pm

Brisbane: The Gabba, 19 August 2025, 9am–2pm

Sydney: Sydney Cricket Ground, 21 August 2025, 9am–2pm

Melbourne: Melbourne Cricket Ground, 26 August 2025, 9am–2pm

Each event will offer interactive demonstrations and sessions tailored to the current threat landscape and practical implementation of identity and access management controls, as well as insights into SIEM system optimisation.

Attendees can expect a collaborative format aimed at supporting ongoing professional education within the industry, providing networking opportunities, and introducing practical methods to strengthen digital defences. The event aligns with ongoing industry discussions regarding the safe and effective integration of evolving technologies, including artificial intelligence, into security and IT management frameworks.
