Confluent partners with NEXTGEN to expand in ANZ region

Tue, 28th May 2024

Data streaming technology vendor Confluent has announced its first distribution agreement in the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region with NEXTGEN Group, a renowned technology distribution firm. This partnership will enable NEXTGEN to market Confluent's advanced data streaming solutions to its Australian partners, thereby expanding the local channel strategy for Confluent. The collaboration will also stretch into New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The agreement signifies a major strategic move for Confluent, allowing more than thirty partners to gain access to its comprehensive cloud-native data streaming platform. This platform, crafted by the original developers of Apache Kafka, aims to support organisations in streaming, connecting, processing, and governing data in real time, thereby integrating data seamlessly across their systems and applications.

Confluent offers a dual approach with its product: a fully managed, cloud-native Software as a Service (SaaS) available on all major cloud providers and an enterprise-ready, self-managed software offering. This flexibility is intended to cater to varied business needs, ensuring maximum efficiency and real-time data handling capabilities for different organisational requirements. By partnering with NEXTGEN, Confluent aims to enhance support for businesses on their data streaming journey by leveraging NEXTGEN's deep technical expertise and extensive partner base.

Kamal Brar, Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific at Confluent, elaborated on the significance of this agreement, stating: "This agreement sees Confluent rapidly expand its local channel partner ecosystem, a step that opens new opportunities for partners and new service offerings for their customers. Through our agreement with NEXTGEN, we are excited to bring the capabilities of our data streaming platform to help more businesses unleash developer productivity, operate efficiently at scale, and enable more real-time applications. NEXTGEN brings a wealth of expertise and an exceptional partner base— we look forward to working with them to accelerate Confluent's growth in Australia and beyond."

John Walters, Group CEO at NEXTGEN Group, expressed similar enthusiasm about the collaboration. "Our partnership with Confluent builds on our focus, capability, and expertise in enterprise software. Confluent is a pioneer in data streaming technology, and we're proud to introduce more customers to its industry-leading solutions and enhance its offering through our unique collaborative service model."

Confluent's platform is designed to address the increasing demand for real-time data integration and analysis across businesses. By supporting businesses in harnessing the full potential of their real-time data, Confluent aims to empower enterprises to offer superior customer experiences and data-driven operations, thereby gaining a competitive edge in their respective markets.
