Cloudera partners with NEXTGEN to expand across ANZ market

Cloudera has appointed NEXTGEN as a trusted distributor across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). This strategic move aims to bolster Cloudera's reach and address the growing demand for hybrid data platforms and data transformation in the region. NEXTGEN, known for its role in fostering growth for technology vendors, resellers, partners, and end customers, is set to enhance Cloudera's distribution capabilities.

Keir Garrett, Regional Vice President for Cloudera Australia and New Zealand, highlighted the significance of this partnership. “With Cloudera being NEXTGEN’s sole AI and data platform vendor, we can jointly target new customers in the commercial market, offering them the same hybrid data management experience as our existing enterprise and public sector customers,” Garrett stated.

Recent Gartner research projects that Australian organisations will spend more than AUD $23.3 billion on public cloud services in 2024. This reflects the growing need for hybrid data platforms and underscores the timeliness of Cloudera's partnership with NEXTGEN. The collaboration is expected to drive efficiency for Australian organisations by leveraging NEXTGEN's established networks and market expertise.

Partners and customers can now unlock the potential of Cloudera’s enterprise data cloud through ongoing enablement and training.”

The alignment between Cloudera and NEXTGEN is particularly noteworthy given NEXTGEN's strong relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This association enhances Cloudera's positioning in the public cloud space and creates opportunities for joint go-to-market strategies, particularly in areas like data management and analytics, cybersecurity, and backup solutions.

Walters also commented on the evolving landscape of technology solutions, indicating that organisations are increasingly seeking comprehensive solutions rather than isolated technologies. “Companies today are buying solutions, not technology and it’s no longer enough as a vendor to have the best technology. Solutions are made from technology from different vendors and implemented by several organisations with cross-domain expertise,” Walters explained.
