Fri, 2nd Feb 2024

Claroty, a leading company specialising in cyber-physical systems protection, announced the appointment of Derek Phillips as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). The move comes as the company plans for its next stage of growth following an impressive financial year in 2023 with over $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).

Phillips boasts a professional history spanning over 25 years as a global technology, supply chain, and security executive. His extensive career encompasses roles in both large public and private equity-backed organisations, combining a deep understanding of the IT and security industries with considerable expertise in sales, strategy, go-to-market, marketing, and operations. With this wealth of experience, Phillips is poised to guide Claroty towards its ambitious development goals.

Reflecting on Claroty's record-breaking year and on their new appointment, Yaniv Vardi, CEO of Claroty, expresses, "We're excited to have Derek join us as we begin an exciting new chapter in our growth journey. Over the past three years, we've more than tripled our customer base and ARR. Derek's extensive experience and proven track record make him a tremendous asset to our team as we progress on our mission to empower industrial, healthcare, commercial, and public sector organisations to secure all cyber-physical systems in their environments."

Prior to his appointment at Claroty, Phillips held the position of Deputy CEO for Kudelski Security. In his time there, he significantly contributed to the company's go-to-market strategy, service offerings, and global client success programmes, specialising in the growth of the company’s key services and expansion of client relations worldwide. Furthermore, he led the strategy to increase the adoption of Kudelski Security's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offering and bolstered their advisory capabilities in OT and IoT. His previous occupations also include SVP of Sales and Market Development at Deloitte, RVP of North America Sales at JDA Software, and a 15-year stint in sales at IBM.

Upon his appointment, Phillips expressed his excitement, noting the significant opportunity that lay ahead. "I’m thrilled to be joining such a mission-driven organisation set on securing all of the cyber-physical systems that sustain our lives," says Phillips. "The combination of a world-class platform and customer-centric mindset has created remarkable momentum for the company, and I look forward to maximising that growth in 2024 and beyond."
