City of Tea Tree Gully upgrades with TechnologyOne system

City of Tea Tree Gully Council in South Australia has deployed the TechnologyOne Property & Rating platform.

The council has automated a range of manual processes, resulting in significant time savings and improved efficiency. This deployment has also enhanced reporting capabilities and provided new data dashboards, improving insights into valuation and rating processes. The platform has been integrated with the council's existing Salesforce application, offering a more comprehensive customer interface, as well as with their GIS platform, document management system, and payroll system.

Justin Robbins, General Manager Strategy and Finance at City of Tea Tree Gully Council, commented on the decision to choose Atturra for the deployment project: "The TechnologyOne Property & Rating platform is very powerful however its standard configuration did not match our established operating methods. We could see that Atturra would take the time to fully understand our requirements and then make the necessary adjustments."

The relationship between City of Tea Tree Gully and TechnologyOne began in 2020 when the council implemented TechnologyOne Financials. This initial success provided the confidence to proceed with the current deployment. Robbins explained the thorough decision-making process: "We carried out a tender process and thoroughly evaluated all submissions, but it quickly became clear that TechnologyOne deployed by Atturra would best meet our requirements. The deployment began in August 2023 with a series of design workshops and the fully deployed platform went live on 1 July 2024."

Robbins highlighted the transition to the new system: "We managed to synchronise our go-live with the beginning of the new financial year. Systems were turned off on the Friday, work completed over the weekend, and the new platform was up and running by the Monday morning. It all worked seamlessly."

The migration process involved converting data from a legacy Authority rating system to the new platform. "We had 30 years of data, including ratepayer details, property addresses and valuations stored in our legacy Authority rating system, and Atturra worked closely with us to migrate this to the new TechnologyOne platform," said Robbins. "The process involved converting from a number of different formats into more suitable data types."

With the deployment, the council is enjoying significant improvements. Robbins added that other completed integrations enhance overall functionality: "The new TechnologyOne platform has also been integrated with our existing Salesforce application to provide a more fully featured customer front end. Other integrations have been completed with our GIS platform, our document management system, and our payroll system."

City of Tea Tree Gully Council continues to collaborate with Atturra to explore further uses of the platform. "Atturra's specialist knowledge continues to be invaluable for us," Robbins remarked. "We look forward to continuing to work with them as an important technology partner."
