Check Point named leader in Forrester Wave for firewalls
Check Point Software Technologies has been recognised as a leader in the Q4 2024 Forrester Wave report on enterprise firewalls.
According to an independent research firm, the company has excelled, particularly with collaborative tools, securing the highest possible scores in 13 established criteria including Vision, Innovation, and Threat Intelligence.
In a statement, Eyal Manor, Vice President of Product Management at Check Point, expressed that the recognition by Forrester highlights the company's strategic advancements and dedication to digital security. Forrester's report identified Check Point's vision as both practical and achievable, particularly praising the company's focus on collaborative capabilities that enhance security functions through real-time telemetry in line with the Zero-Trust model. The company also received accolades for its efficacy in firewall-as-a-service and automation, with a recommendation for enterprises seeking advanced management and robust troubleshooting solutions.
The evaluation highlighted Check Point's comprehensive platform approach through its Infinity Platform, which provides a unified security solution across various networks, cloud services, and remote users. Notably, Forrester highlighted Check Point's excellence in threat intelligence through a blend of in-house teams, AI/ML integration, and third-party data feeds. The platform's threat intelligence capability achieved the highest possible score, underpinning its ability to produce high-quality layered data.
The Denver Broncos represent a notable user of Check Point's technology, utilising Quantum Security Gateways and Quantum Maestro to manage and thwart threats. Russ Trainor, Senior Vice President of Information Technology for the Denver Broncos, remarked, "My team really likes the usability of Check Point's Quantum firewalls with the Maestro load sharing orchestrator, because it enables us to easily scale security to meet any network demand."
Forrester also commended Check Point's progressive product innovation, driven by organic research and development as well as acquisitions. Developments in native SD-WAN and enhancements to Harmony SASE were specifically mentioned. The report also praised the company's robust incident response capabilities due to strong integrations and automation using playbooks for incident resolution.
Check Point's licensing and consumption model, known as Infinity ELA, was noted for its simplicity and flexibility, allowing enterprises to access a full suite of services with a pay-as-you-go option.
