Boomi launches Sydney platform to boost secure data integration

Fri, 1st Aug 2025

Boomi has launched a locally deployed data integration platform in Sydney, aimed at supporting fast, secure, and compliant data movement for Australian organisations.

The deployment is designed to address the needs of enterprises in highly regulated sectors such as finance, government, and healthcare, where data locality and compliance with national regulations are critical factors for adopting AI and analytics solutions.

Onshore capability

The move comes after Boomi's acquisition of Rivery. The company now offers its customers an Australian-based instance of the Boomi Data Integration platform, which enables the deployment of log-based Change Data Capture (CDC) and near-real-time Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) pipelines fully onshore. Boomi emphasises that this approach eliminates the need for offshoring sensitive data, lowers latency, and supports compliance with local frameworks such as the Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles, APRA CPS 234, and the My Health Records Act.

According to Boomi, having data remain inside national borders is increasingly seen as essential for sectors managing strict privacy and regulatory mandates.

"A strong addition to Boomi's data platform alongside DataHub, Boomi Data Integration brings big data capabilities to Australian and New Zealanders, all within the same no-code/low-code experience Boomi users know and trust," said Nikolai Blackie, Co-founder, Adaptiv, an Australasian data and integration consultancy and Boomi partner.

Compliance focus

Boomi states that the Sydney-based deployment has been specifically tailored to help organisations meet sector-specific compliance demands. Local enterprises in banking, public sector, education, and health services are among those cited as set to benefit from the assured compliance, data agility, and control made possible by onshore data integration services.

The company said the new deployment also supports its broader unified platform strategy, which aims to combine integration, API management, data management, and artificial intelligence readiness on a single level governed by AI-driven processes. This is intended to help customers reduce their dependence on individual point solutions, potentially simplifying IT architecture while providing secure digital transformation at an enterprise scale.

Data for AI and analytics

The faster movement and accessibility of data enabled by the local deployment is expected to support a range of AI-driven use cases, including real-time analytics and predictive modelling. Boomi has emphasised the need for trusted data delivered rapidly, particularly in compliance-heavy industries.

"AI agents, predictive models, and real-time analytics all demand one thing: trusted data, delivered quickly and securely," said David Irecki, Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan at Boomi. "But in Australia, compliance is just as critical as speed, especially when you start to consider sectors like finance, government, and healthcare."

Irecki also commented, "With local deployment of Boomi Data Integration, we're removing any compliance barriers to AI-related to data sovereignty, while giving our partners and end-users the near-real-time data capabilities they need to innovate."

Market context

The increased focus on data sovereignty comes as regulatory frameworks in Australia require organisations to demonstrate clear control over how and where data is stored, accessed, and processed. This is seen as a key consideration for organisations looking to advance digital services or introduce artificial intelligence systems that rely on critical or sensitive data.

Boomi's customer base in the region spans industries that are tightly controlled in terms of where their data is kept and how it is managed. The company believes that the presence of a fully local, compliant integration solution will help these organisations accelerate their adoption of advanced analytics and AI, while maintaining regulatory alignment.

With the Sydney-based offering now live, Boomi is aligning its services with the operational requirements and risk appetites of organisations required to adhere to Australia's evolving privacy and security standards.
