Avarni appoints David Payne & Daniel Jarosch in key roles
Leading decarbonisation platform Avarni has announced the appointment of David Payne as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Daniel Jarosch as Chairman to its Board of Directors. The move comes as part of an extensive period of growth for the Australia-based company, following a $2.5 million extension round at the end of last year.
David Payne is a recognised figure in the realm of enterprise software and cloud computing, bringing more than 20 years of international experience. As the new CCO of Avarni, Payne will work closely with the co-founding team to expand the company's global footprint and professional services partner community.
Prior to joining Avarni, Payne acted as Managing Director at PwC Cloud & Digital. In this position, he advised clients on the transformation of finance, HR, procurement, and supply chain operations supported by technology. His previous roles include leadership positions at Amazon Web Services in Singapore and SAP in Silicon Valley.
David Payne said of his new role, "Avarni's customers and partners are going beyond good intentions on climate change. They're transforming their supply chains through Avarni's applied AI to reduce Scope 3 emissions and address one of the greatest challenges of our time. I'm looking forward to working with purpose-driven and passionate leaders, helping organisations achieve their net-zero goals and creating global growth opportunities for Avarni."
The board has further been strengthened by Daniel Jarosch joining as Chairman. Jarosch has a track record for scaling businesses including Marley Spoon Australia, Spreets and StyleTread, and he brings over twenty years of relevant experience to his new role. He has also spent significant time with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), serving as Managing Director and Partner, and holding several regional positions.
As an active venture capital investor with deep connections in the Australian and European startup ecosystem, Jarosch's appointment will afford Avarni strategic leadership and operations guidance as the company moves into its next growth phase.
Misha Cajic, Avarni Co-CEO and Co-Founder says, "The appointment of David and Daniel marks a significant milestone in Avarni's business journey. By working with some of Australia's most seasoned business developers and executives with a sound knowledge of the global startup ecosystem, we'll continue to expand and take our platform to the next level and make Avarni the decarbonisation tool of choice both on local soil and abroad."
Avarni's AI-driven platform aids companies in achieving their net-zero targets by streamlining measurement and planning processes down to a matter of days. This enables companies to quickly grasp and deal with their emissions exposure for a genuine decarbonisation impact. So far, the Avarni platform has analysed more than $1.58 trillion worth of data across 311,000 suppliers encompassing a myriad of industries and has identified more than 487 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.
