Arbortech is launching the ALLSAW BA200X Extension Pole, which adds reach to its cordless ALLSAW BA200X.

The attachment adds about 500mm of reach and is intended for trenching, lawn edging and tree root removal at or below ground level. Its design lets operators work while standing upright, rather than bending over for extended periods.

The Perth-based toolmaker is targeting landscaping, construction and outdoor power equipment users. The product pairs with the ALLSAW BA200X Trench and Turf Blades and uses a tool-free connection.

The extension pole weighs about 1.8kg and is made from aluminium, steel and reinforced plastics. It includes soft-grip front and rear handles, an adjustable front handle, a large low-force lever and a safety lock to help prevent accidental activation.

The launch expands the accessories available for Arbortech's cordless ALLSAW system, which is used for cutting close to or below ground level. By adding reach rather than changing the core saw, the company is aiming to help users maintain access and leverage during repetitive ground work.

Market rollout

The extension pole will be sold in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Retail pricing is AUD $399.95 in Australia, USD $349 in the US, GBP £349 in the UK and EUR €349 in Europe.

Founded in 1988, Arbortech makes power tools and attachments for woodworking, trade and landscaping markets. Its products are distributed in more than 100 countries, giving the new accessory an established international sales base as it enters multiple regions at once.

The release follows a familiar pattern in the tool sector, where manufacturers pursue growth through add-ons that extend the use of existing platforms. Accessories can offer customers a lower-cost way to adapt tools to specific jobs, while allowing manufacturers to broaden product lines without launching a new core machine.

For Arbortech, the attachment also reflects demand for equipment that reduces strain in tasks involving prolonged bending, leverage and repeated cutting near the ground. These conditions are common in landscaping and site preparation work, particularly in edging and root removal, where posture and control can affect fatigue over long shifts.

Ben Inkster, Director, Arbortech, said: "Trenching, edging and removing tree roots can be physically demanding work, particularly for operators spending hours on the tools. We designed the ALLSAW BA200X Extension Pole with operator comfort in mind, helping make these challenging applications easier and more manageable."

The product was designed and manufactured in Australia, keeping development and production close to Arbortech's Perth headquarters at a time when some tool companies continue to balance local manufacturing with offshore supply chains.

Australian production

Arbortech has positioned Australian design and manufacturing as part of the extension pole's story. For a specialist manufacturer, domestic production can offer tighter oversight of engineering changes, assembly standards and smaller-volume runs than may be practical in larger outsourced operations.

That approach is particularly relevant for niche attachments aimed at professional users, where field feedback can shape design changes and compatibility with existing tools is central to adoption. In this case, the extension pole has been built around an installed base of ALLSAW BA200X users rather than as a standalone product.

Inkster said: "The product was designed and manufactured in Australia, allowing us to maintain close oversight of the process and ensure every unit meets the quality and performance standards our customers expect from Arbortech. We're proud to launch this unique product at Equip Expo in the US and put it directly into the hands of the professionals who use our tools every day."
