Appian displays robust growth with new Melbourne office opening
Business process automation software company Appian has announced the opening of a new office in Melbourne. This expansion follows a sizeable 17% increase in headcount over the past three years, indicative of a rapidly growing customer base and strategic alliances.
Located in the bustling central business district at the 100 Queen Street development, Appian's new workspace is intended to bolster their burgeoning team while acting as a primary hub for strengthening customer and partner relations. The firm has quickly gained traction in the region, boasting partnerships with high-profile clients such as Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, MinterEllison, Westpac, AGL, Belong, NSW Department of Justice, and the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) in Victoria.
Detailing their relationship with Appian, Darryl Slabe, Program Director for Digital Transformation at the OPP, said, "The Appian team has demonstrated a strong commitment to our success. Their proactive approach to problem-solving, regular communication, and ongoing support have made them more than just a vendor. They are a true partner in our digital transformation journey."

The company has recently seen remarkable traction from a wave of strategic allies, including renowned entities like Accenture, Conexxia, Deloitte, DXC, EY, KPMG, Roboyo, Seers, Via Appia, and Xebia. Luke Thomas, Area Vice President Asia Pacific & Japan at Appian, explained the company's flourishing presence, noting, "Our remarkable growth in the Australian market, evidenced by a 69% increase in business from our partners in 2023 over 2022, signifies the value our platform brings to businesses aiming for digital excellence."
Thomas explained the motivations behind the new Melbourne office: "Our new Melbourne office not only brings us closer to our customers and partners in the southern region but also serves as a beacon of our commitment to driving digital innovation and process excellence."
Appian's expansionary tactics in Australia are closely aligned with their worldwide mission of simplifying digital transformation via process automation. The Appian AI Process Platform empowers large enterprises to design, automate, and enhance their most intricate and mission-critical business processes. This aligns with their global objectives to refine workflows, collate data, and optimise operations.
Commenting on Appian's outlook for the region, Thomas said, "In the past three years, we have increased Appian Australia headcount 175%.
