A10 thunders into new firewall market with convergent offering
FYI, this story is more than a year old
A10 Networks has expanded its portfolio of security solutions with a new converged firewall, opening the doors for ‘exciting and valuable opportunities’ for local channel partners.
The company says the Thunder Convergent Firewall, which uses the ACOS Harmony platform as its foundation, is the first solution to consolidate multiple converged security solutions in one package.
The offering includes a secure web gateway with integrated explicit proxy, URL filtering and SSL insight’ data centre firewall with integrated denial of service protection and server load balancing, Gi/SGI firewall with integrated network DoS and Carrier Grade NAT, IPSec site-to-site VPN and aGalaxy Centralised Management system support for device management, configuration, reporting and troubleshooting.
The Thunder CFW is designed for service providers, cloud providers and large enterprises.
Greg Barnes, A10 Networks ANZ managing director says “Extending the range and scope of our security capabilities will surely translate into exciting and valuable opportunities for our Australian and New Zealand channel partners and resolve ongoing security headaches for IT professionals.”
Lee Chen, A10 Networks chief executive, says the Thunder Convergent Firewall provides ‘a highly effective, highly scalable all-inclusive converged secured application network platform’ to protect companies.
The company says the proliferation of mobile devices and apps, combined with the move to SDN, NFV and cloud, is driving the need for firewalls which consolidate network security modules, SSL insight, ADC and CGN in a reduced data centre footprint.
“The firewalls of the future need to be high performance, have built in SSL visibility and handle ever-increasing data traffic,” A10 says.
