X Reality Group wins AUD $5.71m Texas public safety contract
X Reality Group has received a contract valued at up to AUD $5.71 million to deliver its Operator XR training systems to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The contract represents the largest single order to date for the Operator XR OP-2 system and consists of an initial AUD $4.3 million order for software licenses, virtual reality training systems, implementation, training, and two years of support services. The agreement also includes an option for a further AUD $1.4 million in support services to be delivered during years three, four, and five, bringing the potential total value to AUD $5.71 million. Delivery of the systems is expected throughout the second quarter of the financial year 2026.
Order details
Under the terms of the deal, Operator XR's OP-2 training systems will be supplied to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), which is responsible for public safety and law enforcement across Texas. The agency covers highway patrol, criminal investigations, including the Texas Rangers division, driver licensing and regulatory services, state crime laboratories, and coordination on homeland security.
Systems provided as part of the contract will be used for law enforcement training by Texas DPS in various locations across the state. Payment terms specify 30 days from receipt of the systems, which are to be supplied in full in the second quarter of FY26.
There are 31 DPS agencies across the United States, and Texas DPS is among the largest by population and geographic area, serving over 30 million residents.
US contract and prior customers
X Reality Group stated that the new agreement with Texas DPS follows recent deployments of Operator XR systems to customers such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the US Department of Defence, and the Los Angeles Police Department SWAT unit, in addition to agencies globally and within Australia.
The contract extends X Reality Group's footprint in the US public safety and defence sector and adds a significant reference project to the company's portfolio.
"We're proud to partner with the Texas Department of Public Safety, one of the largest and most respected law-enforcement agencies in the United States. Their selection of Operator XR underscores the readiness of our platform for statewide deployment and reinforces our U.S. growth strategy. This win expands our footprint with a high-credibility reference customer while helping officers train more often, more safely, and with better outcomes for the communities they serve."

Industry Growth Program Grant
X Reality Group has also secured a AUD $2.1 million Industry Growth Program Grant. This funding will be used to accelerate the company's artificial intelligence development roadmap for the Operator XR platform. The Industry Growth Program Grant is intended to help scale the company's solution features and extend capabilities in simulation, planning and training, particularly for complex environments faced by military and law enforcement clients.
Capital raise and company background
The company's latest achievements come shortly after a AUD $2 million capital raise, carried out with the support of Regal Partners through the Regal Emerging Companies Opportunities Fund. According to X Reality Group, proceeds from the recent raise were intended to invest further in research and development, operational expansion, and to meet increasing demand from overseas customers.
X Reality Group is based in Brookvale, Sydney, where both its headquarters and production facility are located. The company designs, manufactures, and develops a range of virtual reality, augmented reality, and physical simulation systems locally in Australia. Operator XR is described by the company as a portable and secure immersive system aimed at mission planning and rehearsal, with a user base among military and law enforcement agencies globally.
The current contract with Texas DPS was authorised by the X Reality Group Board.
