Vantiva launches innovative IoT gateway for smart spaces

Fri, 11th Oct 2024

Vantiva has launched the Vantiva IoT Commercial Gateway, a network infrastructure designed for commercial properties like self-storage facilities, multifamily housing, hotels, and retail buildings.

The gateway provides comprehensive connectivity with triband Wi-Fi 6E and supports multiple IoT device protocols, creating a secure and adaptable foundation for Vantiva's Smart Spaces solutions. It serves as an all-in-one access point, providing both wired and wireless network access, and features EasyMesh v.R5 capabilities for scalable mesh network deployment and Full Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) for reliable connectivity over long distances. The system also allows for both private and guest SSID networks, facilitating secure access for employees and visitors.

It incorporates a range of IoT radios, supporting popular 2.4GHz and sub-gigahertz protocols alongside three software-programmable radios for future protocols. This robust set of features is designed to ensure connectivity even through challenging materials like steel and concrete, supporting applications such as access control, security, video monitoring, and more.

Reza Raji, Senior Vice President of Smart Spaces IoT for Vantiva, commented, "This gateway is more than just a connectivity solution; it's a platform for growth. The flexible design and broad protocol support not only meets current commercial connectivity needs, but also anticipates and enables adaption to future technological advancements."

The Vantiva IoT Commercial Gateway is versatile and can be installed in any setting, indoors or outdoors, with its IP65-rated enclosure capable of operating under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -40° F (-40° C) to 130° F (55° C). Its installation includes a mounting kit for placement on various surfaces, with an option for Power over Ethernet (PoE) to extend power to necessary locations.

Raji further explained, "As one of the world's largest gateway providers, Vantiva has the expertise to design a comprehensive commercial networking solution and the scale to offer it at a very accessible price point. Compared to other commercial access points, the Vantiva IoT Commercial Gateway can reduce network infrastructure costs by 80% - 90%, lowering the barrier to site upgrades and accelerating returns on technology investments."

The gateway seamlessly integrates with Vantiva Smart Spaces' cloud-based software to provide tools for managing and monitoring remote self-storage sites, enhancing revenue through technology-driven customer experiences. This includes connectivity solutions aimed at improving security and operational efficiency through comprehensive device management across commercial spaces.
