Tesserent announces cybersecurity partnership with Vocus

By Shannon Williams
Mon 27 Dec 2021

Tesseren has announced it has entered into a cybersecurity partnership with Vocus, aimed at addressing the cybersecurity needs of Vocus enterprise clients.

The Partnership targets Vocus enterprise clients via a new Master Resellers Agreement signed with Tesserent. Tesserent is also a partner in the Vocus cybersecurity ecosystem internally, with a renewed Master Services Agreement signed as part of the new partnership.

The partnership efficiently delivers the Tesserent Cyber 360 solutions to a wide enterprise client base, not currently being addressed by Tesserent client facing teams.

Vocus is Australia's specialist fibre and network solutions provider and also operates an extensive and modern network in New Zealand, connecting the country's capitals and most regional centres.

The partnership will initially focus on delivering consulting packages to Vocus 5000-plus enterprise and government clients including Essential 8 programs, Testing/Assurance/Red Team services and will also be able to scale up to delivery of key security product controls as well as Managed Security services like Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM).

"We are extremely pleased to be able to partner with Vocus on their cybersecurity initiatives with their enterprise clients," says  Kurt Hansen, chief executive officer at Tesserent.

"Increasingly critical infrastructure controls are coming under cyber-attack and we look forward to working with Vocus to improve their clients cybersecurity resilience," he says.

"This partnership will enhance Tesserent's profitable organic growth through access to clients that are currently not being addressed by our current client facing team."

Andrew Wildblood, Vocus chief executive, enterprise & government, adds, "Vocus is very pleased to be partnering with Tesserent on cybersecurity.

"With the Cyber 360 offering they have assembled over the last two years, they have become a strong force in the delivery of cybersecurity solutions to enterprise clients," he says.

"When it comes to cybersecurity and secure cloud services, you need to know you have got the right level of expertise and support, and that your IT environment is operating in the way you want," Wildblood says.

"We saw during the height of COVID, the dramatic shifts our customers needed to make to their networks, and operating models, in order to keep their people safe and their businesses running," he says.

"Now as organisations adjust to hybrid working as business-as-usual, its critical to know you have secure foundations in place to support your business."

Tesserent provides full service, enterprise-grade cybersecurity and networking solutions targeting midmarket, enterprise and government customers across Australia and New Zealand. The company's Cyber 360 strategy delivers integrated solutions covering identification, protection and 24/7 monitoring against cybersecurity threats. With more than 400 cybersecurity practitioners, Tesserent has the capability to support organisations to defend their digital assets against increasing risks and cyber-attacks.

In total, the Vocus terrestrial network is c.30,000 route-km of high performance, high availability fibre-optic cable supported by 4,600km of submarine cable connecting Singapore, Indonesia and Australia and 2,100km of submarine cable between Port Hedland and Darwin and connecting offshore oil and gas facilities in the Timor Sea. Vocus owns a portfolio of well-recognised brands catering to enterprise, government, wholesale, small business and residential customers across Australia and New Zealand.
