Australian decision intelligence company Prophet has expanded its sales leadership team with two senior appointments as it steps up growth in Sydney and Melbourne.
The Melbourne-based business has hired former Atomic 212 programmatic specialist Carl Clasio as Onboarding Manager. It has also appointed start-up and sales specialist Leo Roubos as Sales Enablement and Business Development Lead.
Both roles sit within Prophet's commercial organisation and link into the company's recently installed sales leadership. Roubos will work closely with Vice President of Sales and Partnerships James Sawyer, who joined earlier as Prophet's foundational hire in Sydney.
Roubos will lead revenue operations, growth and sales. He reports to Chief Growth Officer Paul Veltman. Clasio will focus on client onboarding and aligning technical workflows with customer requirements. He reports to Chief Operating Officer Hamish Mogan.
Onboarding focus
Clasio joins Prophet after six years at media agency Atomic 212. He was Programmematic and Trading Manager and led programmatic activities for clients. The role included liaison with digital trading partners on advertising solutions.
He has worked across media mix modelling, econometrics, programmatic advertising and omnichannel digital media activation. Earlier in his career he spent several years in the Philippines in marketing and ad operations roles. He worked as a Campaign Manager at Amobee and as an Ad Operations Manager at Ambient Digital Group.
Mogan said the new onboarding role sits at the front end of Prophet's client experience.
"We are thrilled to welcome Carl to Prophet. He will play a vital role in helping customers understand the Prophet model, making sense of their insights and feeling confident from day one. Having someone with Carl's expertise guiding that early journey is a big win for our team and for the marketers we support."
"Prophet is growing quickly, and the demand for clarity in marketing has never been higher. Carl is an important part of building the high-quality team that will support our customers as we scale. We're excited to continue growing with talent of his calibre," said Mogan.
Clasio said the move allows him to apply his agency experience in a product-led environment. "Coming from an agency background, Prophet provides the opportunity for me to use my expertise in omni-channel activations, as well as translating useful data to actionable insights. Prophet is an integral tool for marketers to finally answer the whys and hows of strategic planning. For me, that's a huge marketing pain point, so I'm happy to be part of a team that will better guide clients to answers," said Clasio.
Start-up experience
Roubos joins Prophet's Sydney office with a background in AI start-ups and commercial growth roles. He previously worked at Fluency, where he was part of the founding team and served as Head of Growth. His earlier career included sales positions at global platforms Booking.com and Deliveroo.
Veltman said Roubos will build out Prophet's internal growth systems and revenue operations.
"Leo brings that perfect mix of SaaS pedigree, start-up pace and a genuine problem-solver mindset to Prophet. He has a real can-do attitude and is already deep in building out our internal growth stack and RevOps engine. Culturally, he's exactly the kind of person who lifts the team. Having him based in Sydney, alongside James Sawyer, strengthens our footprint as we push into the next phase of growth," said Veltman.
Roubos said the company's product development track record was a key draw. "Plenty of start-ups lead with hype and figure out substance later. Prophet's done the opposite, putting mathematics at the centre of its focus and taking the time needed to build something genuinely innovative. Now that the hype is deservedly following, it couldn't be a more exciting time to join the business," said Roubos.
Rapid expansion
The new hires follow a period of rapid expansion for Prophet. The company launched in Australia last year and targets brands that want mathematical insight into marketing and broader business performance.
Prophet says it has grown its customer base to more than 30 enterprise clients. They span sectors including retail, insurance, automotive, media, on-demand delivery, wagering and cybersecurity.
The business has expanded its team in recent months. It hired Sawyer as Vice President of Sales and Partnerships. It also appointed talent acquisition specialist Bec Geyer as Head of Talent and People as it recruits for several roles.
Prophet has been building out its governance structure. It added Phil Davis, Vice President Global GTM at Google Cloud, to its advisory board. It also appointed Columbia University academic Professor Andrew Gelman to its board.
The company has invested in new products. It recently released Prophet AI, which it describes as an AI decision intelligence platform that builds digital clones of organisations for strategy simulation. The company says the AI agent simplifies complex modelling and will be available only to Prophet customers.
Prophet's model draws on real-time data and quantitative methods. It connects commercial and behavioural signals and aims to show the impact of marketing, sales and operational investments.
The business was founded in 2020 by Jordan Taylor-Bartels, a former global marketing lead at Hyperloop, and Sean Taylor, a former chief executive at Ogilvy and VMLY&R Commerce. Prophet was recognised as the number one 2025 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Company in the Media and Marketing category.
Both of the latest appointments take effect immediately as Prophet prepares for its next phase of growth in Australia and abroad.
