Prophet appoints Bec Geyer as Head of Talent & People
Prophet has appointed Bec Geyer as its new Head of Talent and People, with responsibility for scaling the company's talent and people operations as it continues to grow its decision science, machine learning, engineering, and development teams.
New leadership
Geyer will report to Chief Executive and Founder Jordan Taylor-Bartels. She has more than 15 years' experience in talent acquisition across Asia-Pacific, the UK, and the US, with a focus on technology companies from start-ups to scale-ups.
She previously held the role of Founder and Principal Talent Lead at Roundabout Group, supporting firms such as Carsales, realestate.com.au, AKQA, Clemenger, Medtasker, Performio, and 2XU. Her experience also includes senior recruitment roles at Rome2Rio, Stax, and Cyara.
Growth focus
Prophet is seeking to fill several positions as it increases its workforce, particularly in teams related to its decision intelligence and technology functions. Geyer's background is expected to help establish talent frameworks required for rapid growth at Prophet, which works with enterprises to provide digital simulation of strategies through its proprietary platform.
According to Taylor-Bartels, the ability to attract and structure talent is critical at this stage of the company's expansion.
"Prophet is at a stage where the quality of our people and the clarity of our systems will define our trajectory. Bec brings sharp judgement, humanity and a real ability to introduce structure without losing speed. Her role will be critical as we continue to scale with discipline and ensure every person who joins Prophet can do the best work of their career," said Jordan Taylor-Bartels, CEO and Founder, Prophet.
Hiring priorities
Geyer's remit as Head of Talent and People covers both recruitment of new hires and the ongoing development of internal people systems. She is tasked with building a hiring process that maintains the company's focus on transparency and employee engagement, alongside supporting operational needs linked with growth.
Commenting on her new position, Geyer highlighted the company's culture and ambitions, stating the importance of authenticity and the employee experience in Prophet's hiring approach.
"I joined Prophet because it's rare to find a company that's innovating at such a high level, while staying so grounded in its people. This role at Prophet offers an incredible opportunity to build something special. I'm excited to shape a hiring experience that feels engaging, transparent, and human in a place where authenticity really matters," said Geyer.
Advisory updates
Geyer's appointment comes shortly after Prophet added Google Cloud executive Phil Davis to its Advisory Board, which also includes Columbia University Professor Andrew Gelman.
