Macquarie Cloud Services achieves Dell's Titanium status
Macquarie Cloud Services has been awarded the Titanium tier status by Dell Technologies, joining the ranks of a select few businesses recognised for their strategic collaboration and technical expertise in integrating Dell's technology portfolio.
The recognition comes as Macquarie Cloud Services commits to a strategic investment in Dell's PowerStore scalable all-flash array storage. This move aims to enhance the company's storage performance, operational efficiency, and sustainability. Jonathan Staff, Head of Private Cloud at Macquarie Cloud Services, commented, "Our Titanium Partner tier is a reflection of the strength of our collaboration with Dell Technologies, built on real innovation rather than pure volume of sales. We don't just resell Dell infrastructure—we integrate it into tailored cloud solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes for our customers."
Improvements in Macquarie's infrastructure include up to a 360% increase in throughput performance, an 83% reduction in latency which boosts application speed, a 68% reduction in data centre space usage, and a 45% lower power consumption contributing to greater sustainability.
The expansion of this partnership is largely driven by Macquarie Flex, described as an Australian-first hybrid cloud system. This solution integrates Microsoft Azure Local with Dell APEX Cloud and provides an alternative to public cloud, described by Jonathan Staff as enabling businesses "to move workloads seamlessly between public and private cloud environments, optimising for cost, performance and compliance."
The hybrid cloud approach presented by Macquarie is showing particular appeal in industries with high risk aversion, such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, and education. The company is responding to concerns about rising costs and security risks in existing cloud strategies. According to Jonathan Staff, "Many customers are rethinking their cloud strategy due to rising costs and security concerns. Macquarie Flex offers savings of up to 20 percent compared to public cloud alternatives, while also reducing operational risk."
Macquarie's partnership with Dell is described as strategic and innovation-driven rather than based on the mere volume of transactions, leading to their Titanium Partner recognition. Jonathan Staff added, "Our investment in cutting-edge storage and cloud technology is about delivering measurable value to our customers. This relationship continues to grow because it's strategic, long-term and built on innovation—not just transactions."
