Konica Minolta Australia celebrates Innovate RAP with artwork

Tue, 16th Sep 2025

Konica Minolta Australia has achieved the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking the second tier in its ongoing reconciliation efforts with Reconciliation Australia.

This achievement signals the company's continued commitment to developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, improving cultural awareness among staff, and supporting meaningful activities that advance reconciliation. The Innovate RAP stage requires organisations to expand their understanding of cultural matters and solidify partnerships with First Nations communities through actions embedded within business operations.

To commemorate the milestone, Konica Minolta Australia has acquired rights to reproduce a piece of artwork by Jasmine Coe, titled "Ripples." The artwork is intended as a visible symbol at each of the company's branches across the country, representing reflection, responsibility, and ongoing progress.

Jasmine Coe described her artwork: "A reminder of individual actions and how the smallest changes, with patience, can have the biggest impacts. Ripples encourages us to be conscious in the present and to be thoughtful in what we are doing. Our actions affect our surroundings; some Freshwater lessons I have learnt."

The prints have been produced using the company's own Konica Minolta AccurioPress C14010S, with the use of white ink to bring out the original piece's vivid colours and fine details. Konica Minolta Australia has stated that the prints will serve as everyday reminders within the workplace of the company's commitment to reconciliation and ongoing self-reflection about its role within Australian society.

Gabrielle Stevens, Chief People and Culture Officer at Konica Minolta Australia, said, "Achieving our Innovate RAP is an important step in our reconciliation journey. We are proud to be taking action to support long-term change, and Jasmine's artwork is a powerful representation of the difference we can make through mindful and collective action."

The company continues to focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and is integrating reconciliation objectives throughout its organisational activities. One of the key community partnership initiatives involves sponsoring the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Community Achievement Award in the Channel 7 Australian Community Achievement Awards. This award recognises individuals, groups, and businesses who contribute significantly to their communities through leadership, cultural preservation, education, health, business activity, community initiatives, and social justice.

Gabrielle Stevens said, "This award reflects our dedication to reconciliation and to supporting change at a grassroots level. It recognises nominees who are strengthening cultural identity, championing inclusion, and helping to build a more connected and respectful future for all Australians."

Through its actions and public commitments, Konica Minolta Australia has stated it intends to further embed the principles of reconciliation and support for First Nations communities across its business operations, supply chains, and partnerships. The company is a member of Supply Nation to support supplier diversity and First Nations businesses.
