Informatica unveils AI-ready cloud data management features

Yesterday

Informatica has introduced new cloud integration and master data management capabilities designed to enhance enterprise access to AI-ready data.

These new innovations are powered by Informatica's CLAIRE AI engine and are part of the company's Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). They aim to ensure data is relevant, responsible, and robust, facilitating organisations in conducting AI initiatives with improved confidence and efficiency.

The company's CLAIRE AI engine applies metadata to drive intelligent automation, while CLAIRE Copilot serves as an assistive partner delivering recommendations. Additionally, CLAIRE GPT provides a conversational model to offer answers. The newly launched capabilities are designed to help organisations optimise AI adoption, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.

Lee Rosenfeld, ETL Integration Architect at McGraw-Hill Education, commented on the benefits observed with CLAIRE Copilot, "With CLAIRE Copilot, we've been able to leverage natural language to break down complex mappings into a series of descriptive steps. We are excited to see how this can empower business analysts and developers in the team to find what they need without having to click through all the components, potentially saving them several hours or even days of analysis. Informatica's AI-powered capabilities are transforming how we manage and utilise our data assets, empowering our teams to work more efficiently while maintaining governance standards."

The new features include CLAIRE Copilot for data integration, which is currently in preview. This feature allows users to create data pipelines using natural language processing (NLP), receive context-aware execution recommendations, and automate documentation, thereby enhancing efficiency and transparency in data processes.

CLAIRE Copilot for iPaaS is also in preview. It provides users, including non-technical integrators, with the capability to create complex multi-step app-to-app integration processes, automate object mappings, and produce business and technical summaries via an intuitive NLP-based interface.

The update also introduces AI-powered capabilities for unstructured data processing. These include intelligent parsing, classification, and transformations, which unlock the value of unstructured data through new chunking, embedding, and PDF-parsing features.

GenAI Recipes are available for application integration, offering prebuilt templates that expedite the development of GenAI-driven applications. This reduces time-to-market and simplifies the deployment of AI solutions. Informatica is releasing these recipes for a number of platforms, including Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Databricks Mosaic AI, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Oracle among others.

Moreover, CLAIRE GPT is now integrated into the Master Data Management (MDM) software, which is available as a service. This integration enables NLP-based search and metadata exploration of business entities and attributes. CLAIRE-generated glossary descriptions automatically generate consistent and comprehensive entries, improving data understanding across various teams.

The updates also feature a GenAI-Powered Natural Language tool for Data Marketplace, allowing users to explore data marketplaces through conversational queries, thereby simplifying data discovery and expanding accessibility.

Pratik Parekh, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Informatica, stated, "By integrating CLAIRE AI capabilities across our Intelligent Data Management Cloud, we're empowering organisations to manage their data with unprecedented efficiency. These new features boost developer productivity, enable new use cases, and democratise data access which helps enterprises accelerate their AI initiatives and governance. Our commitment remains focused on helping businesses unlock the full potential of their data assets in today's AI-driven landscape."
