FireEye ups local channel presence with double hire
FYI, this story is more than a year old
FireEye has bolstered its channel team with the addition of two new channel account managers as it looks to expand its partner programs across Australia and New Zealand.
The new appointments see former Hewlett Packard Enterprise technology services channel partner business manager Michael Coleman take on responsibility for FireEye’s national partner program, with Ken Cartwright, previously ANZ channel manager for Aerohive Networks, managing FireEye’s regional partners.
Richard Metcalfe, FireEye ANZ regional director, says there are significant business opportunities for partners as cyberthreats accelerate in number and sophistication, with the traditional defensive capabilities of organisations slow to respond.
“More and more ANZ organisations are coming to the realisation they face an adversary problem, rather than a malware problem, and that legacy technologies like firewalls and antivirus are practically useless against today’s threats,” Metcalfe says.
“This shift has unlocked significant business opportunities for our partners here, and we remain focused on growing our partner business in ANZ.
“The addition of Ken and Michael to the team represents good progress on that path.”
Cartwright has 22 years IT experience and has worked for companies including Brocade and Ruckus Wireless, as well as his most recent role at Aerohive, while Coleman’s career has seen him working in senior sales roles at Acronis Software and Microsoft Australia, as well as eight years at Symantec developing new capabilities in the ANZ reseller channel.
Both will report to Metcalfe and work alongside Chris Barton, FireEye’s regional alliance manager, who will remain focused on driving the vendor’s global service provider business.
