Dexcom ONE+ glucose system launches for Type 2 diabetes

Today

Dexcom has announced the launch of its Dexcom ONE+ continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system in Australia, aimed at people living with Type 2 diabetes.

The technology allows users to manage their glucose levels more efficiently by providing real-time glucose readings directly to a compatible smart device or optional receiver without the need for fingerpricks, thereby facilitating informed treatment decisions and potential improvements in overall health outcomes.

Dr. Samy Saad, Senior Director at Dexcom Australia, commented on the release, "We're thrilled to offer Dexcom ONE+, a CGM solution that can support people living with Type 2 diabetes. Dexcom is committed to bringing the most up to date glucose management technology to Australians, with Dexcom ONE+ closely following the launch of the Dexcom G7 CGM in September 2024."

The Dexcom ONE+ integrates the performance features that Dexcom CGM is known for, such as proven efficacy in lowering HbA1c and reducing incidents of hyper- and hypoglycaemia. This system also includes customisable alerts which assist users in maintaining their glucose levels within the desired range. With advanced remote monitoring and reporting functions, users can keep in touch with healthcare professionals and loved ones, providing assurance and data connectivity at all times.

The primary features of the Dexcom ONE+ include an easy self-start capability that fits smoothly into daily routines, and it is considered Australia's smallest sensor alongside the Dexcom G7. The sensor offers the swiftest 30-minute warm-up period currently available in the market. It supports ten-day sensor wearability along with an additional 12-hour grace period to facilitate convenient sensor replacement.

The Dexcom ONE+ is designed to be worn on the back of the upper arm or abdomen and boasts superior accuracy, enabling users to make well-informed treatment decisions. The device offers adaptable high and low alert settings tailored for Type 2 diabetes management, including the novel Delay First High alert feature.

Glucose data is sent automatically in real-time to compatible devices, and the system supports remote monitoring, allowing data sharing with up to ten followers. Its waterproof design allows it to be used during swimming, showering, or exercise, enhancing its convenience for active users.
