Konica Minolta launches free CloudPrint for bizhub devices

Today

Konica Minolta Australia has introduced native CloudPrint functionality preloaded on eligible bizhub multifunction printers and printers, available with 12 months of complimentary access.

The inclusion of CloudPrint means businesses can use secure, cloud-based printing directly from the device without requiring additional hardware or software installations. This change aims to lower barriers traditionally faced in enterprise print infrastructure.

According to Konica Minolta Australia, the CloudPrint feature is integrated into every eligible bizhub device, allowing organisations to activate serverless printing immediately after setup. The company asserts this development will contribute to smoother operations and support digital transformation initiatives within businesses.

Paul Colarelli, Product Marketing Manager at Konica Minolta Australia, said, "This isn't just another add-on. We've built cloud printing right into the device. It's turnkey, seamless, and free for the first 12 months because we believe secure cloud print should be the standard, not the exception."

CloudPrint provides several built-in capabilities, including native Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) support within every eligible device, no extra charges for the first 12 months, and a requirement for zero additional hardware such as servers, connectors, or print management systems. The removal of print servers is intended to reduce both the costs and complexity commonly associated with on-premises print servers. Users are able to print from any PC or Mac with minimal configuration required.

The company states that the CloudPrint platform is secure and scalable, simplifying the process for businesses to deploy across their operations. CloudPrint is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Australia and aligns with recognised security standards such as SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, providing enterprise-level security for users' printed documents and data.

Key benefits cited by Konica Minolta Australia include cost savings driven by the reduction of print management overhead, faster deployment timelines—down from weeks to minutes—and the ability to run leaner IT operations by removing the need for infrastructure maintenance. The company believes this will allow IT teams to focus on more strategic priorities.

Konica Minolta CloudPrint is intended to support a wide range of businesses, from small operations to growing small and medium-sized enterprises that may be expanding. The aim is to offer straightforward, secure, and ready-to-use printing from initial setup.

The initial 12 months of CloudPrint access are provided free of charge; after this period, subscription plans will be available for businesses wishing to continue using the service. Eligible models for this feature include new bizhub A3 and A4 devices, with certain exclusions and subject to installation location criteria.

Konica Minolta Australia develops solutions ranging from print and document management to cloud storage and managed IT services, with a focus on supporting workplace transformation and operational efficiency.
