D-Link taps Dicker Data to grow converged security reach
D-Link Australia has appointed Dicker Data as a distributor, adding the ASX-listed company's DAS distribution business to its channel to capture growing demand from physical security and systems integration partners.
The arrangement expands D-Link's access to installers and integrators that increasingly bundle networking equipment with security and electrical projects. It also extends D-Link's reach into Dicker Data's established IT reseller base.
Distribution will run through both DAS and Dicker Data, with products available immediately through both operations.
Channel overlap
Networking and physical security projects are converging as more security deployments rely on IP connectivity, Wi-Fi coverage, and switching. Security installers and systems integrators increasingly specify network infrastructure alongside cameras, access control, and related on-site equipment.
Graeme Reardon, Managing Director of D-Link Australia, said the shift is changing day-to-day work for the installer community.
"The line between physical security and network infrastructure continues to blur, with security installers and system integrators deploying more Wi-Fi, switching and networking infrastructure alongside traditional physical security work every day. Through DAS, Dicker Data is uniquely positioned in this converging market and we're excited to bring D-Link's networking portfolio, training and services to those professionals."
DAS focuses on distribution to physical security and adjacent trade channels, including electrical. The appointment gives D-Link a route into that customer base through an established supplier, rather than building a dedicated distribution footprint from scratch.
For Dicker Data, adding D-Link expands the networking line-up within the DAS portfolio. Gary Meyers, National Sales Manager for DAS at Dicker Data, said partners have been asking for networking products suited to practical on-site deployments.
"Bringing D-Link into our physical security portfolio is a strong strategic fit for our channel.
Our security partners are increasingly looking for reliable, scalable networking solutions that are easy to deploy and supported locally. This appointment allows us to deliver exactly that, while continuing to back the channel with the service, expertise and enablement they expect from DAS."
Product scope
The agreement covers several parts of D-Link's networking catalogue, including Wi-Fi access points, managed and unmanaged switches, and structured cabling.
D-Link is also supplying cloud-managed networking products through its Nuclias management platforms, which provide central oversight for multi-site and distributed deployments where partners manage equipment on behalf of end customers.
D-Link and DAS also plan training and certification programs tailored to physical security, electrical, and systems integration professionals. Training has become a competitive differentiator for distributors in security and networking, particularly as partners need to cover both connectivity fundamentals and on-site deployment practices.
Fulfilment reach
Dicker Data's national logistics network will handle fulfilment, which the companies expect to improve product availability and delivery speed for DAS partners across Australia.
For vendors, distribution partnerships can influence sales execution as much as product fit. Stockholding, shipping times, and the ability to supply installers on short notice matter in security and trade-aligned channels, where projects often involve tight on-site timelines and staged rollouts.
D-Link's wider portfolio spans networking, wireless, video surveillance, storage, and home automation products. In Australia, it sells across consumer and business segments through resellers, retailers, and service providers.
The appointment places more emphasis on the intersection between networking and physical security procurement. That buying pattern has grown as surveillance and access control shift deeper into IP-based architectures, increasing the need for resilient connectivity inside buildings and across sites.
D-Link will work with DAS on partner engagement through the distributor's security-channel relationships. Dicker Data will also offer the products through its broader IT channels, giving D-Link another route to mid-market resellers and managed service providers.
The distribution relationship will focus on product supply and partner programs, with D-Link's networking range available through DAS and Dicker Data as the channel rollout proceeds.
