Commscope unveils SYSTIMAX GigaSHIELD X10D platform

CommScope announced the SYSTIMAX GigaSHIELD X10D, a new end-to-end Cat 6A shielded platform designed to support high-speed copper networks.

The GigaSHIELD X10D is part of the SYSTIMAX 2.0 portfolio and features F/UTP, F/FTP, and S/FTP cables and patch cords, promising optimal EMI and RFI rejection. This technology is particularly beneficial for light industrial and high-security environments in need of robust installation and monitoring solutions.

Key features of the GigaSHIELD X10D Cat 6A Shielded Platform include support for all indoor and outdoor Cat 6A shielded applications, exceeding ISO/IEC and TIA/EIA industry standards for channel performance. The platform also offers eco-friendly design, which reduces single-use plastics and leverages a modular architecture to cut down the number of network components and resources required for production, distribution, and support. This is aimed at extending the network's lifecycle and reducing carbon footprint.

The platform integrates fully with port monitoring through the SYSTIMAX VisiPORT and the AIM SYSTIMAX imVision solutions, which help in real-time network performance optimisation and resource management. Additionally, the new MGS600S jack provides compatibility with the CommScope Jack Termination Tool (JTT), ensuring a rapid and reliable installation process.

InstaPATCH pre-terminated assemblies within the platform are reported to improve installation times by up to 80% compared to field-terminated solutions, offering significant efficiency gains.

CommScope also provides comprehensive support options, including a 25 Year Product and Application Warranty and the SYSTIMAX Assurance program, which encompasses design assistance among other services.
