Check Point invests in local cloud capabilities in A/NZ

Check Point Software Technologies has further invested in deploying local cloud capabilities in Australia to help organisations in Australia and New Zealand keep their cloud workloads safe while meeting local data residency and compliance requirements.

The shared nature of the public cloud and the “shared responsibility model” requires organisations to take additional precautions to keep their data secure, often within legal and jurisdictional boundaries. 

This is especially the case in sectors that have high expectations for privacy and security like healthcare, public services and financial services. 

In addition, due to the dynamic and agile nature of the cloud, it is important that organisations are supported with continuous compliance, including the automatic remediation of misconfigurations.

CloudGuard Cloud Security Posture Management, part of Check Point’s CloudGuard Cloud Security platform, helps organisations meet these requirements. 

This agentless software as a service (SaaS) offering enables organisations to visualise and assess their cloud security posture across various platforms (like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud), and detect and remediate misconfiguration, to ensure the enforcement of security best practices and compliance frameworks. 

Even during cloud migration and in multi-cloud environments, customers can remain compliant by viewing and modifying their cloud environments based on recommendations generated from the solution.

The solution also features CloudGuard Cloud Intelligence and Threat Hunting, a security intelligence technology which helps prevent attacks by providing deep insights into network and user traffic. 

Using artificial intelligence, it can detect anomalies in network and user activity which can indicate unauthorised or malicious activity within cloud environments and applications. 

CloudGuard Cloud Intelligence and Threat Hunting can also integrate with third-party Security information and event management  (SIEM) solutions, such as Splunk, ArcSight, and Microsoft Azure Security Centre and Sentinel.
