Bluesound launches new Dolby Atmos soundbars with BluOS in Australia
Amber Technology is introducing two new Bluesound streaming soundbars in Australia, as the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI enter the market to meet diverse home entertainment needs. Both models combine Dolby Atmos audio with BluOS multi-room streaming and are structured for straightforward installation in a range of living environments.
Product features
The PULSE CINEMA soundbar delivers 500 watts of system power through a 47-inch unit equipped with 16 speaker drivers, upfiring speakers for height effects, and a dedicated centre channel. The product targets rooms with TVs sized 55 inches or larger and aims to enhance audio detail and realism across film, gaming, music, and sport content.
The PULSE CINEMA MINI addresses demand for cinematic audio in smaller settings. The 33-inch soundbar provides 280 watts of power, utilising angled drivers and dual 4-inch woofers. Its compact profile is suited for bedrooms, apartments, or other areas where space is limited but high-quality sound is desired.
Design and compatibility
Both soundbars feature low-profile aesthetics and are offered in different finishes, including black with dark grey fabric and an option for white with tan fabric for the MINI variant. HDMI eARC, optical, and analogue RCA inputs support integration with most television models, while installation flexibility is boosted by automatic DSP-powered orientation detection. Wall-mount brackets are included as standard.
Expanded bass can be achieved via subwoofer outputs, compatible with both wired and wireless connections. The soundbars also support Airplay 2, two-way Bluetooth, and can function as part of broader home automation systems with integration options for Control4, Crestron, and RTI.
BluOS integration
Powered by Bluesound's BluOS software platform, both soundbars natively accommodate more than 20 streaming services. BluOS enables high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz and MQA playback, with control delivered through the BluOS Controller app. Users can access music libraries, internet radio, or synchronise playback throughout multiple Bluesound or BluOS-enabled devices in the home.
Scalability
The soundbars are designed to offer a scalable home audio solution that can be expanded to full surround sound systems. They may be paired with Bluesound's PULSE SUB+ subwoofer and stereo speakers as rear channels to create a multi-channel setup with wireless connectivity, eliminating the need for a traditional AV receiver or extensive cabling.
Market perspective
Matt Simmonds, Product Manager at Bluesound, said, "We wanted to build soundbars that didn't just sound great. They needed to be beautifully simple to live with. Both soundbars offer high-performance audio in elegant, low-profile forms that can adapt to any space, providing immersive, cinematic sound without any of the typical AV clutter."
"We have always believed that performance and simplicity are not mutually exclusive. With these two new soundbars, we are giving Bluesound customers and integrators more flexibility with a clear upgrade path to better TV sound," said Simmonds.
Nathan Brady, General Manager at Amber Technology, said, "The real advantage of these products is how effortlessly they fit into both setup and everyday use. Bluesound has created a refined, low-profile design paired with the latest acoustic engineering, ensuring users never have to choose between style and performance. With these new soundbars, users get a powerful, adaptable way to enjoy music and home entertainment that is built around how people live."
