Blonde Robot to serve as APAC distributor for Telestream video platform

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Digital video innovator Telestream has signed an Asia Pacific distribution agreement with Australian-based Blonde Robot, expanding Telestream's market presence in the region.

Telestream, which develops products for video capture, streaming, production, content management, media processing and more, aims to provide solutions for content creators to help them leverage the value of video.

Telestream's aim is shared by Blonde Robot, which has built up a solid market presence in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Blonde Robot will distribute Telestream desktop solutions including live streaming production hardware and software, including Wirecast, Wirecast Gear, ScreenFlow, and Switch. The products can be used in many different professional streaming broadcasts - for example, conferences, concerts, meetings, lectures, or church services.

Blonde Robot chief executive officer Chris Horsley-Wyatt comments, "Blonde Robot looks to provide a comprehensive offering with its distribution portfolio. Telestream provides an ideal complement to some of the other brands we proudly represent, with products that help further simplify setup and live production so content creators can focus on timely delivery to eager audiences.

Earlier this year Telestream announced a new iteration of the Wirecast product. Wirecast 14.2 includes native support for Apple's M1 silicon hardware, as well as new features.

Wirecast Pro enables users to send live outputs to a secondary display. Program feeds can be sent to screens or independent capture devices without requiring specialised hardware. Further, users can pair a UVC HDMI capture device to capture live output for use in other applications like Zoom or Teams. This can replace a virtual camera or microphone.

Telestream senior vice president Mark Wronski says, "We are excited to partner with Blonde Robot and look forward to being part of the world class video streaming solutions they deliver to the market.

Blonde Robot is part of the Midwich Group, a specialist AV and documents distributor with operations in Australasia, Europe, the UK, and Ireland. Midwich Group acquired Blonde Robot in December 2018.

Last year Blonde Robot inked a distribution agreement with Studio Network Solutions (SNS), bringing the SNS EVO shared storage workflow server to Australia and New Zealand.

Midwich APAC managing director Michael Broadbent said at the time, ""Collaborative workflows, whether for the post-production sector or unified communications, is a key focus for Midwich.

"As a group, we continue to look at every facet of the media, production, audio visual, and IT landscapes to address any gaps and ensure we can help our reseller network keep pace with constantly shifting technology and deliver on market requirements, including business continuity.
