Lenovo launches new Legion Go gaming devices at CES 2025

Lenovo has unveiled the expansion of its Legion Go series with the introduction of new handheld gaming devices at CES 2025.

The newly announced devices are part of Lenovo's Legion Go ecosystem and target gamers seeking versatile gaming experiences. Included in this release are the Lenovo Legion Go S (8", 1) and the Lenovo Legion Go S (8", 1) powered by SteamOS, featuring an 8-inch screen with VRR1 support and innovative controller technology.

The Lenovo Legion Go S (8", 1) is designed for portability. It has an 8" WUXGA 16:10 120Hz1 PureSight touch display and is powered by either the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. The device weighs 1.61 lbs (730 g) and offers up to 32GB of RAM and a 55.5Whr battery. It supports Wi-Fi 6e, includes dual USB 4 ports, and offers a microSD card reader.

The SteamOS variant of the Legion Go S has been highlighted as the world's first officially licensed handheld device powered by this operating system. It features extensive gaming support, including cloud saves, Remote Play for game streaming from a PC, and direct Steam Store and Library access. This device caters to gamers who prefer an OS optimised for handhelds.

Lenovo has also previewed the prototype for the Lenovo Legion Go (8.8", 2), which builds on technological advancements from its predecessor introduced at IFA 2023. The prototype features an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, integrated RDNA 3.5 graphics, and up to 32GB of RAM, with an OLED 8.8" PureSight touch display. It also includes circular Lenovo Legion TrueStrike controllers, a 74Whr battery, and up to 2TB of SSD storage, all contributing to a high-performance gaming experience in a compact form.
