Amber Technology to distribute Williams AV Infinium in Australia

Today

Amber Technology will become the exclusive distributor in Australia for the Williams AV InfiniumTM System, a new assistive audio solution launching in July 2025 that delivers real-time sound directly to users' personal devices or dedicated receivers via Bluetooth AuracastTM.

The InfiniumTM System is designed for a broad range of commercial and public venues, including lecture halls, theatres, airports, and fitness centres, providing accessible and flexible hearing support to diverse audiences.

Rather than depending on complex wiring or traditional receivers, the system allows guests to connect with AuracastTM-enabled hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones, or the purpose-built InfiniumTM handheld receiver.

This new distribution agreement extends Amber Technology's professional AV solutions portfolio, aiming to support venues in creating inclusive experiences while streamlining their infrastructure. The InfiniumTM System integrates with existing audio-visual networks, with a focus on ease of installation and simplified setup for installers and technicians.

System details

The InfiniumTM platform incorporates three principal components: a discreet, low-profile transmitter; a network-ready controller; and an ergonomic handheld receiver. The transmitter is designed for flexible installation and may be mounted on ceilings, walls, podiums, or furniture, requiring just a single Category (CAT) cable to carry both power and audio signals.

The controller provides integrated Dante connectivity and supports secure audio channel creation, allowing operators to monitor and manage the system locally or remotely through a web-based interface.

The handheld receiver features a high-contrast display with soft-touch buttons and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed for all-day use. Listening options include headphones, earphones, cochlear implants, and neckloops.

Williams AV's InfiniumTM System aims to overcome the constraints associated with legacy assistive listening systems.

By utilising Bluetooth AuracastTM, the system enables users to connect through their own compatible devices, reducing reliance on venue-owned receivers and associated maintenance, while accommodating users who prefer to connect via smartphones and wearables.

Key features outlined for the InfiniumTM System include delivery of real-time, low-latency audio via Bluetooth AuracastTM, support for both stereo and mono transmission modes, and compatibility with a wide selection of hearing devices and the dedicated InfiniumTM receiver.

The system's installation utilises a single CAT cable for both power and audio, while the range for the InfiniumTM receiver extends up to 100 metres. Discreet transmitter mounting options and multiple listening device compatibilities are also included.

Dante network integration is provided, with facilities for configuring secure or open audio channels, and both local and remote management. This design approach is intended to enable venues to meet compliance goals and guest expectations for accessibility.

Industry positioning

Williams AV, a company with nearly 50 years' experience in assistive communication, describes the InfiniumTM System as building on its legacy in professional-grade audio technology while providing scale and future readiness for venues.

The recommended retail price of the various InfiniumTM components has been outlined as follows: Infinium CT1 Auracast Controller and Transmitter at AUD $4,599, Infinium Auracast System Kit with two receivers at AUD $6,699, Infinium Auracast System Kit with four receivers at AUD $8,599, and the Infinium R1 Multi-channel Auracast Receiver at AUD $549.

Williams AV developed InfiniumTM to remove the limitations of legacy assistive listening systems. The system uses Bluetooth AuracastTM to eliminate the need for venue-owned receivers, reduce maintenance, and increase accessibility for users who prefer to connect through their own devices. This model streamlines audio delivery while meeting the expectations of modern, tech-enabled audiences.

The InfiniumTM System will be available across Australia through Amber Technology's national network of AV resellers and integration partners from July 2025.
