Tech Data's Technology Solutions business has signed to become a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider in India in a deal the distributor says will enable partners in India to build profitable businesses in the cloud and create more recurring revenue.

The deal will see the Technology Solutions business, previously a division of Avnet, delivering Microsoft's entire cloud portfolio, including Azure, software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service via the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider program.

Naresh Desai, Tech Data Asia Pacific vice president, specialist business, says the distributor's portfolio of cloud solutions will enable partners to embrace new consumption models, transform IT and drive business growth.

Technology Solutions says it has a strong presence in India, where it is expanding its portfolio of services to include customised cloud solutions for businesses across industry verticals, including retail, logistics, manufacturing, banking and financial services, public sector and education.

Manish Sharma, Microsoft India SMB Business lead, says the deal will help accelerate cloud adoption across India and enable the digital transformation of businesses.

Technology Solutions has similar deals with Microsoft in Australia and Vietnam.
