Spriggy partners with Fastter for new 5G mobile service

Fastter has partnered with Spriggy to launch Spriggy Mobile, a new 5G mobile service targeting children's safety and parental control.

Spriggy Mobile's 5G plans are designed with industry-first safety features and parental controls, fully integrated into the Spriggy app, which is currently in use by more than 1.2 million parents and children across Australia.

Fastter provides a zero-cost, zero-risk telecommunications solution, simplifying the process of launching a branded mobile network, akin to white labelling a credit card.

This approach significantly reduces both the time and capital typically required to launch a telecommunications vertical, eliminating regulatory and compliance risk and the need for complex carrier negotiations.

Traditionally, launching a mobile vertical required substantial financial investments for acquiring or building telcos, which deterred many brands due to high costs and time constraints.

Damien Hansen, Co-Founder of Fastter, emphasised the company's role in creating bespoke branded mobile experiences.

Hansen also mentioned the shift from traditional discount-based partnerships to embedding telecom services into existing platforms.

"There's a real opportunity for brands with large loyalty programs to embed branded mobile plans directly into those membership and rewards platforms."

Spriggy, with this new service, positions itself as the first Australian fintech offering a mobile phone service, following similar models by companies like Revolut in the UK and Nubank in Brazil.

Scott Eddington, Chief Commercial Officer at Spriggy, highlighted the advantages of partnering with Fastter.

"It's no secret the process to offer a telecom service is a tangled and complex value chain of layered technology partnerships, wholesale contracts and security integrations," Eddington commented.

"Partnering with Fastter means we don't have to carry the extra regulatory and compliance burden and were able to establish ourselves in a new vertical in a capital efficient way."

Eddington further pointed out the importance of maintaining the Spriggy identity within their mobile venture. "It was also crucial for us that Spriggy Mobile was able to remain distinctively Spriggy and leverage our existing digital footprint on hundreds of thousands of devices around the country."

"We were able to achieve that in collaboration with the Fastter team utilising their suite of powerful API's," he said.
