Software Combined acquires Hero Software for expansion
Software Combined has announced its acquisition of Brisbane-based Hero Software, a company specialising in home energy rating systems in Australia.
Hero Software is the ninth acquisition by Software Combined since its establishment in 2020, indicating a strategic move to bolster offerings in specific sectors. The Brisbane-founded company has developed an energy modelling platform aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of building designs and facilitating compliance with the NatHERS Energy-Rating standards for residential buildings.
Founded in 2017, Hero Software's platform assists building assessors and raters in accurately modelling energy consumption to ensure compliance with the minimum 7-star energy efficiency rating set by NatHERS, and in many instances, aims to exceed these requirements. The tool contributes to a more efficient and less carbon-intensive private property industry in Australia, aligning with the increased regulatory focus on environmental factors in construction.
The acquisition aligns with Software Combined's objective to support and expand the capacities of Australian software companies in key markets. Hero Software will continue to operate under its founder, Nick Bishop, with the added support and resources from Software Combined to enable further growth.
Nick Bishop, the founder and CEO of Hero Software, commented, "We are proud to have already played a role in driving software-based innovation to make it easier for Australian houses to be built in a more sustainable, comfortable, and ultimately, more valuable way. I am looking forward to continuing to work with our customers and to drive the next stage of our growth under the Software Combined umbrella, particularly with more changes expected in the regulatory and compliance environment for housing."
Stefan Jansen, Co-founder and Director of Software Combined, also commented on the acquisition, highlighting the growth prospects, "There is no doubt that with expectations of a surge in dwelling construction in Australia over the next decade, and the growing importance of compliance to sustainable energy standards, Hero Software is well positioned for further growth. We are excited that Hero Software is joining Software Combined, not only because it will mean the company can benefit from our resources, and experience, but that it will mean Nick can continue to lead the company and focus on accelerating innovation for a more sustainable building industry."
Hero Software is expected to leverage Software Combined's experience and resource support to continue its trajectory in the energy efficiency sector, focusing on delivering advanced solutions to meet the evolving demands of sustainability and compliance in the construction industry.
