Robosen debuts G1 Flagship Bumblebee in Australian market
Amber Technology and Robosen Robotics have announced the introduction of the Robosen G1 Flagship Bumblebee to the Australian market, a fully automatic, voice-activated collectible robot reminiscent of the 1984 Transformer model.
The G1 Flagship Bumblebee, a result of a collaboration involving Hasbro, Volkswagen, and Japan's Takara Tomy, boasts a blend of nostalgic design and modern engineering. This model was three years in development and includes 31 high-precision servo motors and 67 microchips, with a six-axis motion sensor enabling transformation from a biped robot into a Volkswagen Beetle.
Pre-orders for the G1 Flagship Bumblebee in Australia run from 27 March to 27 April 2025, available through Amber Technology's authorised retailers such as Gamesmen, Sugo Toys, and EB Games.
Alberto Zamudio, General Manager - Major Retail at Amber Technology, commented, "The G1 Flagship Bumblebee sets a new benchmark for character robotics. Robosen continues to lead the charge in creating lifelike, high-functioning robots that celebrate pop culture through cutting-edge technology. Amber Technology is excited to bring Bumblebee to Australian fans and collectors who value both technical innovation and iconic design."
The G1 Flagship Bumblebee includes features like realistic Volkswagen Beetle replication with authentic paint textures and automatic transformation capabilities. Dynamic mobility is afforded by an advanced wheel hub servo system. The robot is equipped with over 230 voice clips and 48 voice commands, featuring custom recordings by original G1 voice actor Dan Gilvezan.
The model supports both voice and app control, offering functionalities like transformation and motion adjustments, as well as driving speed alterations in vehicle mode. Users can employ five programming modes, including voice-activated and manual options, to personalise their experience.
The G1 Flagship Bumblebee also features MINI Theatre for multi-robot choreography and can integrate with other Robosen models. It includes premium materials such as Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, aluminium alloy, and fibre-reinforced nylon for extended durability and performance.
Alongside its technical prowess, the robot enhances user interaction via a mobile app that offers pre-programmed stunts and downloadable action packs.
Robosen has made notable progress in marrying licensed entertainment with robotics, launching successful products like the Flagship Optimus Prime and Grimlock G1 Flagship. This Australian launch marks another expansion for the brand.
The G1 Flagship Bumblebee is available on pre-order at an early bird recommended retail price (RRP) of AUD $2,499 inclusive of GST, with a standard RRP of AUD $2,999. General availability in stores is projected from September 2025.
