FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Australian arm of OKI Data, a global manufacturer of multifunction devices and printers for businesses, has appointed Tony Grima as its managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Grima will be based in OKI Data's Sydney offices and will be responsible for propelling the company's sales, marketing, account management, services and partner channel strategy, as well as ensuring overall customer experience success.

For his first initiative, Grima will be introducing the new OKI Advantage Partner Program and online Partner Portal in Australia and New Zealand.

“OKI Data Corporation is a world leading manufacturer of business printers and multifunction devices.  “I am honoured to be appointed as the new managing director for the Australia and New Zealand region,” says Grima.

“At OKI, we truly value our partners and this program shows our commitment in offering them a great support network,” Grima explained, “The program focuses on providing the assistance and tools needed to become a successful OKI partner and continued nurturing to build a strong and successful working relationship.

Grima, who joined OKI Data in 2018 as sales director, was soon promoted to general manager for sales and marketing. He is now one of a few local team members across OKI Worldwide to be promoted to a local managing director position.

Grima replaces Alex Kawamura, who was appointed managing director for OKI Data Australia in October 2017.

Kawamura has moved to a new role, in which he will lead the product development and business division in Japan Headquarters for both the US and ANZ markets.

Kawamura says, “We are extremely pleased that Tony will become the new managing director for OKI Data Australia. His leadership skill and wealth of experience in business development will be invaluable in accelerating the business growth of OKI in the ANZ region. I wish him and the team all the best.

“We have just celebrated our 10-year anniversary in December last year, and I am looking forward to working with our talented team and partners as the Managing Director in 2020,” adds Grima.

Prior to his roles at OKI Data, Grima was the Australia general manager of Fuji Xerox Printers where he led the implementation of a new channel partner program, reconfigured the company's sales pipeline and improved service levels.

OKI is a global manufacturer of business printers and MFPs. OKI pioneered LED printing technology, an advanced form of printing using fewer parts compared with the more widely known laser printing.
