Nuix unveils Cognitive AI for Discover platform enhancements

Fri, 6th Sep 2024

Nuix has unveiled new enhancements to its Discover platform with the introduction of Cognitive AI. The announcement was made in Sydney, Australia, where the company’s headquarters are located. These improvements aim to boost the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of identifying crucial documents and information relevant to investigations.

Jonathan Rubinsztein, Group CEO of Nuix, provided more insight into the significance of this development. “Discover is a key focus for Nuix and we are continuing to innovate and invest heavily. Our Cognitive AI will dramatically improve the efficiency and quality of document review, boosting speed and relevance with AI technology, and delivering profound time and cost savings,” Rubinsztein said.

The new Cognitive AI capabilities will allow customers to use Nuix's own language models to find, categorise, and risk score various types of documents. Additionally, the AI will facilitate rapid identification of sensitive information that may require redaction or immediate action. The features follow enhancements in areas such as native Excel redaction, names normalisation, coding efficiencies, and video file conversions, alongside a tighter integration with Nuix Neo technology.

Rubinsztein also mentioned that the Cognitive AI is currently undergoing testing stages and has received promising early feedback. “We are currently in testing and are encouraged by the early feedback and excited about the step-change in value Cognitive AI will offer our customers. After this initial phase, we will also be offering customers the ability to use the Cognitive AI results to further tune Discover's predictive coding feature, which we expect will deliver another step-change in value,” he noted.

Nuix plans to augment the Discover platform further by allowing customers to create their own AI models customised to their specific business needs. An automatic redaction feature for sensitive information is also on the agenda. "Our near-term plan is to then also offer customers additional features to add even more value on top of Cognitive AI, including tools to easily build their own AI models which they can customise for their unique business needs, and automatically redact sensitive information," Rubinsztein explained.

The new features are part of an ongoing effort by Nuix to respond to customer feedback and provide significant improvements in their software offerings. Enhancements such as native Excel redaction and video file conversion have been introduced to make the platform more efficient and user-friendly, all while integrating closely with existing Nuix technologies.

"We are extremely excited about the future of Discover and what Cognitive AI will soon bring to customers," Rubinsztein concluded. Nuix remains committed to innovation and investment in their Discover platform, with the introduction of Cognitive AI being the latest milestone in their continuing evolution.
