New Relic appoints Rob Newell as VP of Customer Adoption for APJ
New Relic has announced the appointment of Rob Newell as Vice President of Customer Adoption for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) to oversee the growth of customer success and best practices in observability. In the newly created role, Newell will be responsible for leading New Relic's high-performing customer adoption team as they empower businesses with best-practice observability to take a data-driven approach at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Newell has over two decades of technical leadership experience in the software industry across the Asia Pacific region, including 10 years at Salesforce where he most recently held the position of Vice President of Solutions Engineering and Cloud Sales, ASEAN. He has also held senior roles at software development company, IntraLinks and IT consulting firm, ConnXion Limited.
"Rob brings a wealth of success and experience in technical consulting, solutions, and sales across the APJ region and we are thrilled to have him join our regional leadership team," said New Relic Group Vice President of Customer Adoption, Duncan Bradford. "His deep technical experience coupled with his strong knowledge of the Asia-Pacific technology landscape will be invaluable to New Relic as we continue to deliver outstanding results for our customers."
Newell's appointment comes weeks after another senior leadership hire in the region, Kris Day, who was recently appointed as Senior Vice President for APJ. The region has continued to demonstrate strong growth for the company with the opening of two offices in India (Bengaluru and Hyderabad) over the past year covering product development, customer support, sales, marketing, developer relations, and solutions consulting. The Singapore and Australia offices were also certified as a Great Place to Work.
"The APJ region is a wonderfully dynamic technology and business environment driving strong digital growth and innovation. It has some of the fastest growing economies in the world, and is home to a significant number of the world's developers," said New Relic Vice President of Customer Adoption for Asia Pacific and Japan, Rob Newell. "Having been a technologist and developer for many years, I was drawn to New Relic because of its focus on data-driven engineering and all-in-one platform approach. By enabling engineers to have a clear understanding of what's happening and why across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), they are freed up to focus on building the next amazing feature or application."
New Relic delivers the only unified data platform that empowers engineers to get all telemetry metrics, events, logs, and traces paired with powerful full-stack analysis tools to help engineers do their best work with data, not opinions. Delivered through the industry's first usage-based consumption pricing that's intuitive and predictable, New Relic helps the world's leading brands including adidas Runtastic, American Red Cross, Australia Post, Banco Inter, Chegg, GoTo Group, Ryanair, Sainsbury's, Signify Health, TopGolf, and World Fuel Services (WFS) improve uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency to deliver exceptional customer experiences that fuel innovation and growth.
Gartner's Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2023 report has demonstrated just how important observability is to the industry, with Applied Observability cited as the second most important trend for 2023. This has also marked a shift from a reactive to proactive observability practice so that companies are able to define future business decisions. Newell's appointment comes off the back of recent product innovations at the company including CodeStream code-level metrics and service-level telemetry and out-of-the-box GPT-4 monitoring.
As a leader in observability, New Relic empowers engineers with a data-driven approach to planning, building, deploying, and running great software. New Relic gives engineers more value for the money by helping improve planning cycle times, change failure rates, release frequency, and mean time to resolution. This helps the world's leading brands improve uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency to deliver exceptional customer experiences that fuel innovation and growth.
Some of New Relic's notable ANZ customers include Australia Post, Flight Centre, Kogan, Service NSW, Xero, and Zip Co.
