FYI, this story is more than a year old

Midwich Australia, a specialist trade-only audio visual distributor, has forged a new Australia-wide distribution partnership with digital signage software platform OMMA Sign.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Istanbul, OMMA is rapidly becoming a robust global player in the digital signage industry offering a cloud-based, secure and flexible digital signage platform that is designed for adaptability and ease-of-use.

“This distribution partnership sees Midwich bring something unique to help our Channel Partners align with modern technology solutions and add exceptional value,” says Midwich APAC managing director Michael Broadbent.

“There is a natural synergy with the work our Partners are already engaged in with our display-panel vendors and the OS platform independence of OMMA Sign. They can choose to work with smart screens or renowned media players such as BrightSign.

Running at 1,700 locations on over 20,000 screens across three continents, OMMA has quickly established itself through its innovation and international staffing, including local representation in Australia.

Having recently demonstrated the product at ISE 2020 in Amsterdam, OMMA APAC sales manager Darren Farrell says he is excited about the agreement.

“We are really pleased to be working with Midwich who has a rock-solid commitment and access to one of the most reputable AV dealer networks in the country,” he says.

“OMMA paves the way for clients to have control over their displays and share their message in real-time. It is adaptable, programmable yet simple and infinitely scalable digital signage solution that meets the ever-changing needs of clients in a variety of sectors including retail, education, corporate and commercial.

OMMA answers a very immediate need to minimise the physical interaction between POS personnel and customers, with a remote ordering facility via QR code scan – working with the customer's mobile device – interacting with the OMMA platform.

According to a (pre-COVID-19) report from Allied Market Research, the digital signage market is expected is projected to reach $32.12 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 8.1% from 2019 to 2026.

The report shows that the healthcare market would exhibit the highest CAGR of 11.3% during 2019-2026, and APAC the largest regional growth at 11%

“The significant impacting factors in the digital signage market include rise in demand for bright and power-efficient display panels, rapid digitalization and decline in demand for traditional billboards, and increase in demand for 4K and Ultra-HD Devices,” the report states.

“However, deployment of widescreen alternatives such as projectors hampers the market growth globally. Conversely, emerging display technology such as micro-LED and quantum dots and increase in preference of electronic giants towards large-screen displays offer remunerative opportunities to the digital signage market. Each of these factors is anticipated to create digital signage market opportunity during the forecast period.
